Dan Rather Steps Down post #1  quote:

CBS news anchor Dan Rather has formally stepped down from his Anchor Chair.

Rumors are that the main reason for his "early retirement" is the infamous memo on President Bush. His adamant left wing slurs directed at Bush and its repercussions when the "MEMO" was found to be incorrect.

Rather was a great reporter in his time. he was every where there was news. This is according to the Network.

He was in the midst of the battles before embedded journalists became the in thing in News.

Many times over the years Rather was there. now he slipped up and allowed his personal feelings to invade his program.

His anti Bush feelings defined as his own thinking or indeed his CBS's leanings led to the embarrassment of the Network and actually a good thing for Bush.
Now we are faced with who will step in to his shoes?

I don't think CBS will put anyone in his place, rather( pun) then opting for a replacement I feel they will stay quite for awhile.
Times are too violent now for someone to jump in and be the head man.
Lets not forget Fox news has taken over the lead in Networks with The Bill O'Rielly show a big ratings success.
Especially during the election.

What do you all think?

Life may not be the party I had hoped for.......
But while I'm here I might just as well listen to the music and dance..

I think it's about time he quit. Either he left or they would have had to fire him.

He was probably given an ultimatum. He embarased the network and lost audiences.

I will not watch any network news.

I'm happy he quit. He was rather biased, throughout his career.

He never saw it, I don't blame him. We rarely see our own foibles.

But he was a very biased left winger, I'm glad he is gone.
