I love Snipes and greatly respect his skill as a martial artist, but the previous film was SOOOOOO bad - I really hope they try to redeem themselves a bit with this one..
I'm hoping for the best. At any rate, I was entertained by the martial arts from that last one at least (although I think I liked it a bit more than you, Sean... ), and adding rising stars like Ryan Reynolds (canadian talent) and Jessica Biel (quite a lovely thing to look at...) could be a good thing. Let's hope the script is justifiable work, and the directing is sound. I'm not sure who's directing or producing, but so far the appearance of the briefs clips are good enough for me. If the reviews aren't decent, I'll be waiting for DVD...
I liked Blade 2 a lot, thought it was better than the first one. Let's see how a ensemble cast does in this. Also watch out for the wrestler HHH as one of the bad guys.
Opens: December 8th, 2004 (wide)
Starring: Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel, Parker Posey
Directed by: David S. Goyer
Distributed by: New Line Cinema
What's the Story?
In the final installment of the trilogy, vampire-hunter Blade is on the run from the human authorities that have made him Public Enemy #1. So he must team up with two young Nightstalkers to take on the original vampire, Dracula.
Three Good Reasons
• Wesley Snipes' last go-around in the part he was born to play.
• Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds are bringing fresh blood to the franchise.
• David S. Goyer, who wrote the earlier 'Blade' movies, takes a stab at directing.
Bet You Didn't Know
There's plenty more to learn about Blade in Yahoo! Movies' Comic Book Movie Guide.
Wesley Snipes has pulled out of all press duties for his third "Blade" movie, "Trinity."
The moody actor was so insistent on not talking to the media about the movie, he signed up for another film in Bulgaria as soon as shooting finished and he has been incommunicado ever since.
"Trinity" producer Peter Frankfurt says, "Wesley is in Bulgaria shooting a movie. He's done three movies in Bulgaria. Actually I haven't talked to Wesley. Wesley won't return my calls.
"He hasn't called me to talk about it. If he was genuinely unhappy with the film we would have heard something. There's a lot going on in his life and he's got a lot of issues at hand so who knows.
"The guy is an awesome Blade. We've made three movies. Sometimes the paths of communication between us are fantastic and sometimes they're non-existent.
"If Wes doesn't want to do press that's a career choice he's made."
Snipes also insisted on having total control on the set, green-lighting all scenes in which he appeared, and he stayed in character as the brooding vampire anti-hero throughout the movie.
Frankfurt adds, "Wesley has script and director approval of all the 'Blade' movies. He had to sign off on absolutely everything we were doing."
Could be that the movie is ok, but he hates that something was changed or added/removed without his approval, which pissed him off. He might be angry at someone and this is how he's chosen to deal with it...
How about that Peter Frankfurt, saying that Snipes made a "career decision" by choosing not to do press for the movie?...
cant wait fo this...didnt enjoy Blade II much but i have a feeling this one is going to be much better.

Exactly how I feel Dave. The second movie was just awful... I was checking the time to see if it was over yet, and the second hand seemed to be ticking backwards.

It was real gross too. The blood and gore in the first one was style-lized.
The second, with those vampire mouth things, ugggggghhhhhhhhh!!
Heck! liked the second one better, maybe you and me are off base. I dunno.
