Matrix reunion thread post #1  quote:

Well, it was a year ago this month that Revolutions came out.

A year and a half ago for Reloaded.

WOW.

UPDATE!

As of May, it's now the Two year anniversary for Reloaded.

Time marches on I guess.

I use to come home from work, cook a pizza, crack a diet coke and spend hours reading Matrix threads. Didn't post too much, just read.

Sandy June would come home and want me to watch T.V. with her. She finally started watching T.V. in here, while I read Matrix threads.

When I would take the dogs for a walk, I would use Agent Smith quotes on them, "I can taste your stink!", etc.

It wound down after awhile, the forum died. Only natural.

Still, I get nostalgic for it.

I'v moved on to other movies to be obsessed with, namely the Good the Bad and the Ugly.

Now, when I go to walk the dogs, I say, "Two can dig quicker than one.....YOUR NOT DIGGIN."

They interpet this as: "Lets go for a walk".

Anyhow, I still got my Matrix posters on the wall and the Morpheus action figure in his chair. I watch the burley brawl about twice a month.

Back in the glory days, I watched that sucker everyday.

Ah, the matrix thread.

I only posted a few times in here, but I read a lot like the law dog here.

First post was in here.

And as for watching the movies, I still do fairly often, or at least more often than any other movies. I like to catch things that I've never seen before in the action scenes. You know, look at the edges of the screen (especially in the burly brawl) and there's some funny stuff that the animators stuck in there.

Is this thread like a eulogy or something?

Seems like it.

Kevin: Remember that one time when I ate those napkins?
Me: (laughing) Yeah.
Kevin: That was funny. Do you remember what made me do it?
Me: I'm pretty sure you just said, "Hey, watch me eat these napkins".
Kevin: (laughing) Yeah, that sounds about right.

I like to pick out an agent Smith in the burley brawl and try to keep track of him throughout the fight.

Hard to do, you can keep up a scene here or there, but not the whole fight.

Hey, I might watch it again tonight.

Heh, me too.

At one part, when Neo is bent over a little and spinning the pole over his back, you can see an agent smith at the left edge of the screen kind of whimping away. It's almost like he's trying to sneak out of there. He gets hit a moment after that.

Or in the chateau fight, when Neo punches the one guy in the face after trapping him between his shield and the wall, the guy just keeps his head tilted all the way back. You can see his head in the wide slomo shot where they're all in the air.

Or how about that horrible mistake during the car chase? Morpheous sticks his sword in about a foot down from the top of the truck, but when he jumps down on it to use it as a brace, it's all the way down the side of the truck. WTF? I can't help but notice that every time I watch that chase.

Yeah, I've seen these movies way too many times.

yeah, I was scared to post at first. Some of these guys had 150 to 200 posts.

Freaked me out. I had like 3 or 4.

I don't know why I was so afraid I'd get flamed. Been flamed plenty of times since then, it's no big deal.

Back then, I was worried someone would tank me.

That sword thing was strange. It was such a key part of the fight sequence. You know the w bro's knew about it.

Maybe they just hoped the audience would miss it.

I also learned in Reloaded that Neo could use "the force" not only to repel things like bullets, but could use it to pull as well. He pulled those two knife like twisty things from the walls as he stood on the top of the stairs.

The real thing I learned from Reloaded was those barrels on the highway are full of water. I never really thought about it before. I always assumed they were just empty barrels.

Now I know. The Matrix helped educate Lawdog.

Reloaded was on TV the other day. I love that movie so much

I remember back when I first started posting some guy named Gorgaxx put me on his ignore list cuz someone was still advocating Matrix-within-a-Matrix after Revolutions came out. I told him he had his head up his ass, and Gorgaxx put me on the ignore list

Well a few of us still advocate the MWM theory and it's far from clear cut if you read the theories section - but I don't think anyone's gonna argue about it anymore after tens of thousands of posts I don't think anyone's likely to change their minds anymore.

For a minute I couldn't find the matrix forum - a chill went down my spine - oh nooooooooo! but now it's under sci-fi - phew. The world's best place for Matrix fans can not just disappear. Please never let that happen!

Just wait until many people have the box set and we might see some more activity in here perhaps even some new members? Maybe even some new theories? That's probably impossible since we have covered everything almost.

Long live the Matrix Forum.

I remember Gorgaxx.

I think he put a lot of people on ignore.

And for the record, I never believed in the Matrix within a Matrix theory.

I read that one fake spoiler where Neo wakes up in the real world and bends the spoon with his mind, that kind of made me wonder about it, but I never did buy it.

I did however, get mixed up in the former one stuff.

I thought the Merovingian was a former one.

There were some in here who thought that cypher was a former one and the black cat was a former one.

(the cat because as he walked by at the end of REVO, and then the matrix reloaded.... )

I didn't buy it, but I liked to read the former one theorys. I think everyone made the list: Trinity, Morpheus, Councilor Hamman.

You know what I realized today?

There will probably not be another fight scene as cool as the ones in the Matrix trilogy for a long, long time.

That kind of pissed me off. I've seen them about a bagillion times, but I want more. It sucks, because no other action movie comes close.

sad world we live in

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon has some pretty good fight scenes.

On par with the Matrix.

Other than that.....

Kill Bill two had a couple good ones.

I think your right about Reloaded however, cause I don't know if that one will ever be topped.
