What do you think that thing is in the forest? Do you think it is a monster? Is it the same for each person?
The pilot was afraid of it and it killed him. Locke wasn't afraid--he saw it as a challenge. He gets away alive and comes back with a pig. Something is strange there.
"Man is a marvelous curiosity ... he thinks he is the Creator's pet ... he even believes the Creator loves him; has a passion for him; sits up nights to admire him; yes and watch over him and keep him out of trouble. He prays to him and thinks He listens. Isn't it a quaint idea." Mark Twain
I think it is something unnatural. I don't see why it is that Locke lied to everyone? He obviously saw this thing. Did he lie for the sake of trying to stop a panic? But they are going to have to face this thing eventually, why not have them prepared?
Maybe this thing brainwashed him or something
Seriously though...I have no clue, I've given up trying to guess whats going to happen on this show. Or at least I don't expect any of my ideas to be right.
May the wind always be at your back and the sun always upon your face, and the winds of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.
They have be stumped, all of my guesses on this show have been wrong. I guess it wouldn't be very interesting if it was predictable though.
I don't remember Rose saying that. Was that when she was at the beach? Or was she referring to the animal noises?

I thought the same thing! But we really haven't seen any out of place animals for awhile so I sort of forgot about it. But seriously polar bears don't live on a tropical island Didn't Danielle say that she got to the island by a ship wreck? Maybe they were carrying some sort of animals for some reason.

I think Locke and Jack have seen the "monster" and said nothing.
The episode when the monster killed the piot, it showed the monster heading for Jack.
Jack shows up like nothing happened. The same way Locke did later. the only difference, it actually showed Locke looking at the monster, it did not show Jack and the monster together.
It just showed that it was heading for him and it was taken for granted that they met up.
Interesting episode...Now the question is, was what he saw in his hallucination actually a true depiction of the 'monster?'
It sure sounds like a dinosaur, what else could be so huge and able to confuse us so much?
My only guess is that it's something all whacked up and unnatural....
May the wind always be at your back and the sun always upon your face, and the winds of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.
I started getting a bad vibe when it turned out to be a cop out, his imagination,
made me think of forbidden planet and sphere. That cheap hokey plot that there is some invention that gives you what you want, but our fears gives us our nightmares instead.
I hope it don't go that direction.
Well, at least now we know Boone and Locke have seen the monster and that it messes with their minds. The previews for next week showed the black kid being attacked by a polar bear.
So maybe next week, the kid sees the monster too.
They sure got some splaining to do.
I found the brother/sister love a little repulsive. Ewwwwwwwwwww.....................
I know, I know, they are not blood, but still......

I thought Boone only saw the monster in his hallucination?...Or else I missed something....
Missed the scenes for next week...Polar bear again? I am hoping they will give us at least a clue or two about the monster's identity...They really haven't given us much on that matter for quite some time now.
