Last week saw the first new Episode of the Simpsons this ratings season (is that how it goes? It's not the first new episode this year... it's just the first since the last new episode this year...... if that makes sense)
Anyway, it was Treehouse of Horrors XIV.
It was an amusing episode, with a type of humour that I hadn't seen often in the more recent episodes. Quite amusing really.
It started off with a "The Ned Zone", in which Homer, in trying to get a frizbee of the roof, knocks Ned unconcious with a bowling ball (you heard me). After Ned gets out of hospital, he realizes he can predict people's deaths, and, after touching Homer, he sees himself shoot Homer in the back. Great ending, with quite a few very amusing moments.
Next was Four Beheadings and a Funeral, set in Ye Olde London or something. It was amusing, watching Eliza Simpson and her assistant, Dr. Bartelby solve the Muttonchop Murderer. Very amusing indeed
Last part was "In The Belly Of The Boss" in which Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa travel into Mr Burns's stomach to save Maggie. The worst out of the 3 segments, but still very good.
Next up is the Season Premier, All's Fair in Oven War, playing on November 14th (that's right! In 2 days!).
In this episode, Homer buys Marge the new kitchen she's always wanted, and she's so wrapped in it she decides to join a cook-off. When Lisa sees Marge cheating, Marge is in conflict with herself, and, well, you know... Also Bart and Milhouse find Homer's old playdudes (minus the nudes, which Marge removed), and they find themselves highly intrigued by the Playdude lifestyle... so they start living their life like swinging bachelors, 'causing Homer to have to, uh, explain, uh, what swinging bachelors, uh.... do...
Not a bad episode, not fantastic. Since there was a few season slump, I think this episode has actually brought the average episode rating up a tad, to be honest. Some very amusing moments.

When Bart and Lisa no longer crave Marge's mothering ways, she finds someone new to lavish with attention: Nelson Muttz....
Also, Bart gets 100 on a test, and gets Homer to deliver on his promise of throwing him a party if ever he scores 100... which has an amusing part involving Ralph playing Duck Duck Goose... ("Duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck ...")
This episode may be my favorite so far this season, with some pretty funny things in it... However The Treehouse of Horrors episode had some funny moments also, though the last part of it was kind of slow (in the belly of the boss zzzzzzz).

I'm thinking these ones are pretty good. The start of Treehouse of Horrors XIV is kind of corny (they use the theme from Perfect Strangers), but the show itself was quite amusing

The fourth episode of this season sees Marge's old school-mate Chloe (I believe it's the woman who plays Samantha in Sex and the City who voices Chloe) returns to Springfield as a hot-shot reporter. Her influence on Lisa slowly takes effect on Marge, who gets a little miffy over the whole thing and forbids Lisa from going on a story to Capitol City with Chloe. Lisa sneaks off anyway, of course, and ends up in the middle of molten lava (of course...).
Interesting episode, not brilliant, but not terrible.
One thing I've noticed is a hell of a lot of Episodes have been revolving around Marge recently, with a few comic episodes involving Homer... don't know what the deal with that is.

Okay, this episode revolved around Bart and Homer. Bart loses his last baby tooth, and instead of getting a fortune under his pillow is jacked with a "grown up gift" of a donation in his name. To rebel against this, he starts designing t-shirts with crude sayings like "ADULTS SUCK, AND THEN YOU ARE ONE" which catch on. He's eventually discovered by some novelty shop dude, and is making a fortune. So, when Homer gets fired (on Christmas day, no less), Bart suddenly becomes an ATM machine for Homer.

Well, Burns cancels everybody's medication plan, so Homer and Grampa run off to Canada to smuggle cheaper drugs into the country, and become heros in the process. Pretty amusing episode. More gay-Homer references than ever before

The health inspector threatens to close Moes, so Homer takes a mortgage out on the house and gives the money to Moe so they don't have to drink at the gay bar across the street. Marge gets wind of this, and decides to "protect her interest" by working on the bar with Moe. When Homer gets concerned about the time Moe and Marge are spending together... well, he wasn't happy
Funny joke at the end with Marge looking at Homer and asking "who's watching the kids?" then cuts to Bart and Lisa flying a hot air balloon in France

When Maude (sp?) died nobody really cared lol so it will probably be some secondary character. We already know the Sea Captian is gay. I forget which episode... but Homer was on his boat with his crew and they were all gay or something. I forgot...
