Though everyone seems to think it is Sawyer. He has already been blamed for things that he hasn't done, so I think that is kind of a clue it isn't him. Though I could be wrong. I am thinking it is going to somebody that we are least expecting. This show just doesn't seem like it's going to be very easy to predict.

I don't think Sawyer had enough time to get to Sayid and hit him. I think it is one of the guys that was on the beach. Maybe the guy Jack saved in the water.
Now Boone, that's an interesting idea. But what would his reasoning be for it? After all...his sister is sufferring, and he doesn't seem to be getting along with anyone on the island that he's met due to the plane wreck.

Here's another theory. What if it is the person or "thing" that Sayid gets captured by next week is the one that broke the transciever? Whoever this thing or whatever it is, would have quite a few obvious reasons for not wanting them to escape the island.

I don't think it could be Saywer, either. Locke says he could have used a cig to do a slow lighting of the fuse, but how would Saywer be able to make it go off right when it needed to? Besides, I don't think he's that mean. I was thinking Boone, but wasn't he helping in the caves? The only people that I can think of that weren't in the caves were Clare, Shannon, and Locke. Clare wouldn't be able to get up to Sayid very easily, being, pregnant. Shannon we saw set off the bottle rocket, and Locke has no reason to want to stay on the island. I have no idea who it could be and really wanna know!

She had the idea on the first trip to not tell the others of the transmission.
She was on the second trip with the first transmitter and she dropped it from the tree. I'm 95% it was her, it's been awhile since I seen it.
She was on the third trip, the second time they tried to triangulate the signal and she left to go find Jack in the cave in.
She could have went over to Iraq dude and brained him from behind and took out the transmitter.

She is a criminal, why would she want to leave the island. To go to jail?
