The US had to act in order to maintain the Oil pricing in USD. post #1  quote:

Very straight, but debate is open in a large variety of fields :

A ) Oil has always been traded in USD
B ) The US are the largest oil consumer in the world
C ) China is shortly becoming the new world power and is the largest buyer of foreign exchange. Namely Euros
D ) France and Germany had most of the Oil extraction and transport contract signed with Iraq before the invasion, thus affecting the currency in which it would have been traded in the near future.
E ) As it stands the US only have order the Federal Reserve to print more USD to purchase Oil, thus not inflating the already largest external debt in the world.
F ) If the invasion hadn’t take place, chances are they would have had to start buying Euros to commerce with European Oil companies.
G ) The external debt on oil would go from " fictitious " to fastly creating a possible crack.
H ) US economy & energy under severe threat.
I ) Any action was justified under these terms....acording to them.

Conclusion : US Gov & Oil & Energy Lobbies in the US, have more reasons than needed to find any so-called Bin Laden, Saddam, Arms of " mass distraction " or any crazy scenario to eliminate the Euro trade threat of oil.

If a " few " people have to die, in any country, for them to go into Iraq. There aren’t enough body bags to make them use another strategy.

Just a thought.

A) US Dollar is the most traded, period.
B) The US is one of the most industrialized countries. China and Russia both had economies that failed to produce a need. Hence America is the largest and because we are gowing at a rapid rate. Somehow that's a bad thing I guess.
If you compare waist and economic impact per capita, you will find other Euopean countries who did not impliment any emmision controls until 2 decades AFTER the US. There is plenty of waste and usage going around. We are also more aggressive at alternative fuel and are already on the way to hybrid, electric and hydrogen (Down the road a bit). It's not like we aren't trying. But when fuel is 1/4 of the cost of Europe, we use more.
C) I think you will find quite a few USD in China and other ASEAN countries. Which ever is stronger.
D) France and Germany should be ashamed of themselves. Enough said. It is unlikely they will be back in Iraq for a while.
E) Maybe if I ask them nice they will print me a few billion while they're at it. It doesn't work like that. It's a balanced system. We just can't print what we want when we want.
F) Saddam dealt in USD.
G) ???? Crack? Hmm... I don't get it.
H) Nope. The world is at a threat. Every time OPEC holds us all hostage with their oil. The best thing is to find alternative sources which, we have been doing since 1970.
I) Is this the War for oil thing again, because I'm real tired of this old lie?

Conclusion: America will adapt and survive as we always have. China will suffer, Europe will suffer as they already are with the highest fuel rates on the planet.
Is the whole Union that happy with the Euro? I had heard that it wasn't working as well as expected.

The Bood for Oil rhetoric you attach to this war is just plain bunk.
Now I could say that France got a lot of oil contracts while watching Saddam murder his countrymen. Now that may be Blood for Oil. Maybe even the Oil for Food program could be considered Blood for Oil.
There a many ways to get oil as France, Germany and Russia have recently proven to us. Why would anyone go to war when they could just do what they did? Or, just simply buy it.

Just a thought.

Reframe yourself from answering, dont`have time for this sort of " Mine is bigger than yours " kinda monothematic frustrated monologue.
