I dont think so at all... so he's comedic... oh well.
Maybe if the guy who played tank wasnt such a fool in real life the character wouldnt have had to be written out and Link wouldnt have had to be written in.
I still hate the guy though. When I watch Reloaded and Link makes an appearance, I think that scene would have been much better with Links part just cut out altogether.
I didn't like link that much and I think he was there for a more personal link to what the infantry were doing, after all neo and trinity were together and so were morpheus and niobe so some couple had to be separated to add emotion to the fight and extra motivation to open the gate on time.
Now this is gonna sound weird but I always thought link's face looked the most rabbit-like face I have seen, besides on a rabbit. Maybe this is a subtle reference to the white rabbit that went down the rabbit hole that alice followed only we have tunnels instead of a rabbit hole. Another connection to Alice in Wonderland? But who is alice in this case? in M1 neo followed the white rabbit (DuJour) and ended up meeting trinity then morpheus and took the red pill to see how far the rabbit hole goes so neo was "alice". In M3 neo went out of the rabbit hole (tunnels) and to the machine city, there doesn't seem to be an obvious alice this time. maybe it relates to when alice saw the white rabbit for the last time in Alice in Wonderland? I have to go read Alice in Wonderland again!
The funniest music video in the world is Eminem - Without Me, when Elvis is sitting on the toilet, reaches in and pulls out a sandwich and eats it - where did that come from? roflmao

Hey, I will take what I can get. Finally someone at least 1/3 of the way agrees with me.
Link sucks, spread the word.

what did happen to the guy who played tank anyway? i wondered why he wasn't in the other two films.
Love is a very powerful force, especially when its formed into a coherent beam of death.
It's a long story, but he got in a contract dispute with the w bros and after they canned him, he supposedly would show up on set and try to disturb things.
Ya know, all joking aside, he is doing a decent job on LOST. I don't have a problem with his character on that show, and I do think he can act.
In the Matrix movies, the way he was written just hit a raw nerve with me.
It's like in the middle of every good scene, with all this fighting and action going on, we have the proverbial cut to link so he can make some asinine observation.
It worked with Tank in the Matrix, it just didn't work with me for Link.
Maybe I'm being too picky, but the hate is set in good. I will never be able to watch the movies without feeling irratated when Link pops in and says his drivel.
Well at least the link scenes give you a chance to use the word asinine! I haven't found a situation to use it in real life yet - but my tongue is locked and loaded
Link and the rave scene
What would be really cool is if the commentaries in the box set reveal something about Link we all overlooked? That's just wishful thinking
