I should win because
"I try to keep very positive and make sure I'm not tearing down the very people I need to get the job done." -as told to Entertainment Weekly
Maria, 31, grew up in Tallahassee, Florida though her primary residence is in Virginia Beach, VA. Maria has a BS in Business and completed her MBA with a specialty track in Entrepreneurial Marketing. In 2002, Maria was named the youngest Vice President in the history of her publicly traded company.
She is currently the Vice-President of Marketing for a Real Estate Investment Trust company headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, and has 10 years of experience in the fields of Marketing/Branding, Sales, Business Management and Advertising.
Of course thats just my opinion....I could be wrong. (Dennis Miller)
"You might be the toughest little whacker. . .but in my world, you're about as worrisome as a cloudy day." (Dutch Dooley)
She was the "Ms. Goodie Two-Shoes" who went walking in her high heels for like ten blocks getting lost and by the time she came back, discovered that the Apex Team had lost by missing sales target by about $234. Maria was needed in dishing out ice creams and pitching sales instead of a joy walk around Times Square and couldn't see Stacie J's ice cream cart right acrossed the street. Maria must have forgotten her contact lenses.
Okay she wanted to be a nice person and THOUGHT she was making a positive contribution to the team. Instead, she disappeared when her sales services were more important in bringing in the register revenue. What good is her college degree with a specialty track in Entrepreneurial Marketing if she allows her feet to do the walking and talking? Read Maria's bio:

Nobody noticed this gap in team performance in the Apex's failure at Week Two. Maria should have been nominated into the boardroom to justify her existence.

When Stacy R. called the second cart on a cell phone, Stacie J. said that she and the second cart were on 7th Avenue.
So, Maria headed down 7th Avenue in search of the second cart. After walking ten blocks, Maria gave up. Later, Stacy R. found out that Stacie J. had been wrong - the second cart was on Broadway right next to them, and not on 7th. In fact, it turned out that the second cart was just across the street from them the whole time!
mystic said this in post #3 : Maria is incompetent.
Approving the e-mail without the phone number?
Every time she gets caught doing something wrong..her blinks go 1000 miles per minute!
I cant believe she has lasted this long...
She really does make mistake after mistake every week....its gotta catch up to her soon.
She lucked out that it didn't come down to marketing strategy...
I know, it wasn't a major mistake...but it was a mistake nonetheless.
Mystic: I absolutely agree with you on Maria. She so incompetent it IS scary!
She tends to fib her way out of things and then doesn't accept responsibility.
That and her blinking drives me NUTS! I cannot even look at her. Almost everyone has her placed DEAD LAST. It would be a miracle if she made it to the final four. If she does, she'd screw up ROYALLY. Most rapid eye blinkers either have a neurological disorder or are just dishonest.
She's lied her way through this interview. I prefer Ivana over her any day.
I lost count how many times Maria blinked when she was on the defensive...couldnt do it ... even WITH the video on Yahoo.
Maria proved herself not only to be full of bologna but insubordenant, rude, and petty. She complained before that Elizabeth was too emotional and crying and ended up doing the same when someoen called her ... oh my...tears welling up... a control freak!
Speaking of unable to count... I cant count how many times people have called me a control freak. Im not a control freak, i just want the weather, business and everyone to do everything i want when i want...........thats not being a control freak. *smile*
Everytime Wes opened his mouth, she would but in, roll her eyes, throw her hands up in the air...etc. That proves shes unworthy of being a leader period...I dont know how she does it in her real life.
Maria = useless...(other than visuals of a red bikini in the pool)..that shes ok for. Business........nope.
She's another ornament on the shelf. She thinks Andy is a smart kid but disrespects everyone else on her team.
Maria always claims she has the most education, expertise and experience in taking charge of the projects even when she doesn't stepped up to become the project manager. She wants the authority but doesn't know crap when it comes down to crunch time. I can't understand how Maria stayed so long after her gal-pal little Stacy got thrown off so long ago in week #7 for pre-occupying Wes and losing. Seems like Maria was avoiding to become the PM week after week.
In the boardroom, she shouts at Donald just feet away. And in the Levi executive presentation, she was sticking her face and mouth right up to Levi President Robert Hanson, leaning over into the conference table. (I almost thought the table would break in half with her weight.) Maria makes certain her opinion of Wes is heard in the boardroom after failing at the Levi's task. She accuses Wes of not having a plan for the Levi's task.
Maria probably looks good in LONG hair, but I don't know about the two other behaviors, that hand struttling/waiving and her active eye lashing. Talking about psychos..
Here is an interesting article on Maria POVs during her Trump competition. As much as our group here didn't think she performed all that well, she did make it much further than any of us expected. But we all wanted Little Stacey out before Maria. Maria will be quitting her regular day job this year and go into the entertainment industry IMHO. I think Maria has talent in portraying the antagonist in TV drama.

Interview With Maria Boren of Apprentice II - By Colleen Harris - Reality Reel Media - 01.17.05
Being over budget in the toothpaste task was the reason for Apex’s lost that week, and that was because of the printing cost, that you were in charge of. What happened in the boardroom that week that had Stacie going home?
We didn’t lose b/c of the expense. We lost b/c we didn’t “pay the invoice” before the task ended. We didn’t pay more than we’d originally agreed to pay---we were just negotiating our way through the invoice when the task ended. The added “expense” that was billed to us (but we didn’t pay) was due to the fact that the printer had their staff on “overtime” in an effort to deliver the printing project on time (an expense that was not discussed prior to the arrival of the invoice). As in the real world—two business people agree to a set price for the delivery of a completed job and if the invoice does not reflect the discussed/agreed upon price—the rate that was agreed upon is usually what is paid.
You were project manager for the fashion win. Why do you think that project was so successful?
I lead by example; I had the luxury of identifying the natural talents of each of my comrades during the previous tasks, so I knew how to best use their talents and keep them happy; I knew which women worked the best together; many of my team members understood the basic elements of fashion which was helpful; The women consistently out-researched, out-brainstormed, out-planned, and out-executed the men’s team on the previous tasks and we knew that if we applied the men’s strategy of “keeping things simple” and I didn’t allow the group to change their minds/our team’s direction at the last moment we would win. Female clothing line or not, we were more strategic in planning & execution than the men were.
In the recruiting project, you kept bringing up the “sex appeal” of the ad. How did you think that fit in to recruiting, considering the time we live in?
When I used the term “sex appeal” in the NYPD task---I wasn’t talking about human sex appeal, instead, I was talking about the psychological elements that make human beings’ hearts beat fast when looking at a print ad. A 24-35 year old male joins the police force for the same reasons that a 24-35 year old male joins the military--the honor of serving a community or country, the “fraternity-like feeling” of working with similar people, the “exclusivity,” the potential adrenaline rush, “the toys,” etc, etc, etc…. My goal was to keep the campaign from becoming “too sterile.”
The blue jeans project proved to be too much for you. Besides getting fired at the end, what do you think went wrong?
Our competitor came up with a better idea on the Levi task giving them a significant strategic advantage—PERIOD.
You need to take a speed-listening course to keep up with her rapid MOUTH, hands and eye flashes. Often times, wish I could find the off button or take out those batteries.
Maria Boren and her wicked eyebrows. Maria and Elizabeth ganged up on Stacie J Upchurch and got Trump to fire Big Stacie at the boardroom.
