SYLVESTER Stallone has suffered a blow to his hopes of casting Vin Diesel in a Rocky sequel. Stallone wanted to cast the Fast and the Furious star as his opponent in Rocky VI but Diesel doesn't seem keen to take a fall.
A friend of his said: 'Vin loves the Rocky movies, especially the original, but he doesn't want to be just another meathead for Rocky to knock about. Vin wants to see there's a proper character to playto-toe with Sly .
Rocky VI is to be produced by Stallone and son Sage, and both will also appear in the film.
I REALLY don't think that we need another Rocky Movie.
I also heard that Vin Diesel will be playing Arnold Schwarzenegger (sp?) in a movie about Arnie's life. Playing against Sly then playing Arnie! Is there anything this guy can't do?
I'm happy he's making another rocky. However, I think he should be realistic. Stallone is going to have to tape his skin back tighter on his face to look younger than 50, and do some interesting things to the plot in order to explain a gap in the last 10 or so years.
I think Rocky should lose, because all great champions leave it where they got it. It would be smug to keep it. I don't think it's good for boxing to shine a spotlight on a time in Boxing where a fat 45 year old ex champion can win a fight against anyone. Come on! If Anyone half the calliber of Muhammad Ali were around to fight Forman he wouldn't have won.
However, givin the fact that this is ROCKY, and not BOXING, I can see how this wraps up the series. Rocky got the belt in unlikely fashion, and retained it in unlikely fashion--none of the sequels as dramatic or inspirational as the first. This will go back to the struggles and doubts just like the first movie. But with a brand new scenerio unlike all the rest which were... worse and worse.
I hope his son does a good job in this movie.
Please pardon my pseudo-intellectuaphilisophicalismysiticality.
Stallone is like 60, no joke. Sure, he's in good shape. But all of the Rocky sequels were progressively worse until the last one sucked the wind out of so many theaters people couldn't breath.
I have never seen a Sylvester Stallone film (maybe that is good), but I think that as long as these actors play roles suitable for their age it is fine. For example, Harrison Ford played a Soviet Navy captain in K19: The Widowmaker, and even though it was no Star Wars or Indiana Jones, it fit his persona quite well. What matters is that they don't continue to act like brash young cowboys but take on roles that fit their image as they grow older.

Wow, Chuck is much older than I thought. I was thinking he was in his 60's but at the last minute recanted and guessed late 50's. They should definitely fight.
While Van Damme is a good inclusion, I still maintain that Chuck Norris at over 60, would be his best match. Still in great shape and a lifelong participator in martial arts, it would be a great matchup.
