I watch it when it's the celebs, now and then. Pretty amazing to watch the money spent. But, I like the celebs who play, because it goes for charity. Much better than the other.

So I left the bar on Friday night and fired up the old home computer to play some poker. I only had a few bucks left and decided to blow through it really quick. I played a Omaha Hi Tournament, was in first most of the time, but foolishly went all-in on a lame hand and lost it all. Arrogance bites me in the ass yet again.
I surfed the tables and finally settled on a $1 No Limit Hold 'em tourney. If I finished 15th or better I would at least get $15 bucks. Out of 100 people, shouldn't be a problem. So I'm doing my thing, good chip stack, when I notice there are only 8 or so people left. Then the tourney abruptly ends, I was top 4 or so. I go to see how much money I won and it just said 'seat'. Evidently, it was a damn satellite tournament and the top 5 people get a $30 seat at this other tournament that starts in four hours. I just wanted my $15, dammit.
So I shut my eyes and drag myself off the couch to play in this damn thing. Now, there was unlimited re-buys and add-on's until the first break, which was about 45 minutes away. Over 300 people signed up. So all of them could get way more chips, but since I was on my last few bucks I couldn't get any more. I had the bare minimum and that's all I had to work with. Big time disadvantage. If I lost, that's it. If these jerks lost, they can come right back. This dude at my first table made three re-buys in the first half hour. Luckily, I was on my game big time.
At one time I was 4th chip stack. When it got down to the last 100 or so people, they shifted me to a new table and I started bleeding money. I had been in the tournament for 3 hours and was losing quick. I had to make it to at least 40th to even finish in the money, $100. I was playing very conservative and barely made it to 40th. Then I got a little loose, throwing money around, doubled-up and kept going. I scratched, clawed, juked and jived up to 25th place, taking home $140. That's out of over 300 people, most of whom re-bought at least once. Not too shabby for a nights work.
Played in a sit & go tourney online the other night, $30 buy in. Took an hour or so but I came up in first place (ten peeps at the table) and got $130.
Last night I decided to play a little Omaha Hi/Lo and cashed out at $200. Not bad for a few days work.
