late night with chodder post #1  quote:

I always get to see the good movies the night before they come out and I always come here first to say my thoughts. I figured I should just start a thread about it.

Ok, I just back from seeing King Arthur.... let me just say.... it is not worth paying to see. It is one of those things that you wait until it comes out on video. The battle scenes are nothing spectacular and of course they throw in some stupid romance into the film to try and make it appeal to wide range of audiences. There is random screaming and stupid huffs and gruffs of 'masculinity' all over the film. One guy will be pounding his chest and the other will be screaming. I seriously felt like screaming ?FREEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOM!!!? at the very end of the film. It finishes off kind of like a Braveheart with them screaming.

I am not that smart with history and what actually happened, but it doesn?t take a rocket scientist to see that Hollywood is busy at work.

My computer clock now reads 2:45?and now I am off to bed.

Excalibur is better because it is a classic. Know what I mean?

The thing with this film is? I just didn't see anything special about it. It is just like any other war film.

I saw the trailers for King Arthur, and it appears that the only redeeming feature of the entire film is the casting of Ioan Gruffudd as Launcelot. I saw Guinevere in a tank top, firing arrows like some medieval tomboy. What rubbish. I will reserve my final judgement until after I actually see the film, not at the cinemas that's for sure, and until then.....

Yes, Anchorman is going to be cool!

I am stopping myself from watching any TV specials and trailers because I don?t want to ruin the movie for myself. Another movie I can?t wait for is I, robot. I will be seeing them the night before they come out so I will post my review in this thread.

The movie was awesome The plot was pretty good it is as if the 2nd renaissance was made into a movie. The robot version you see in the movie is called the NS-5 but there was a previous version and it looks EACTLY like the ones in the 2nd renaissance. You could say this movie is like a prequel to the matrix movies. I give this movie 2 thumbs up, but you have to see Will Smiths ass though, and also him in the shower

Did you see the full trailer or the teaser trailer? The full trailer has Jada Pinkett-Smith in it.

Collateral will be good.

There was this really high power guy coming and he called like 3 hours in advance to say he was coming at 3. So we go insane and clean everything to a sparkle. It is now 5 and he still has not shown up. We were scheduled to leave at 5:30 and the next shift would come in. So (there was 4 of us and 1 manager) the 3 of us go outside for some air and to have a seat to rest out legs because we stand ALL day. The guy appears out of nowhere and the other 2 bolt inside making it really obvious that they are going to try and make it look like they were doing something. So I just stayed put figuring "you caught us red handed" The guy was pissed especially at me because I didn?t run inside as soon as I saw him. IT MAKES NO SENSE! So needless to say everybody is made because we went outside and they are especially mad at me because I didn?t run inside when the guy was like 10 feet from us.

That sucks. I get a fifteen minute break if I've worked for less than 6 hours, and a 30 minute (unpaid) break if I work over 6 hours. When you get a half hour break, you can go out and eat, otherwise, you just hang out in the break room.

Same here, but we don't have a break room. There is a coffee shop next door with chairs and tables outside and that is the only place we can sit down. I have to go in to work at 6:00 and I know <removed> is going to hit the fan. They are pissed because we knew he was coming and we still went outside. The guy was 2 hours late and we all thought he was never going to even show up. This guy is a real ass and he is the type of person to sit out in his car and wait till we do something so he can catch us.

How should I state my case? I?m probably going to be written up and crap and if not fired. I can?t stand it because they are making a big deal out of this little thing of sitting down. There was still somebody inside too so it isn?t like we left everything unattended. The lobby is like 40 square feet all around and it is all taken up by the concession stand. It can easily be managed by one person for 5 minutes. Plus it was in between shows and nothing was happening. The only customers to get are people buying food during the movie and people buying tickets for advanced showings.
