kimberly locke vs clay post #1  quote:

i simply don't get why clay is so popular and kimberly locke is not. not only has she been just as consistent as clay, but she's proven herself to be versatile whereas clay only knows how to belt out a ballad. he moves awkwardly on stage and he seems so fake and cocky when he mouths "thankyou, thankyou" every week. there's so much more richness to kimberly's voice.

clay fans... what's the deal? help me understand!

Yay Clay post #2  quote:

Yes Kimberly is good, very good.
But Clay from the time he auditioned he gives me goose bumps when he sings!!
He has a very powerful voice like Rick Astley, remember him, little man BIG voice.
I do not think he is Phoney at all, when he mouths his "thank you's" I truly think he is sincere. Obviously Clay is gay (there is nothing wrong with that) He has that shy kind of flamboyancy to him.

I agree with you Ringo. I hate to say this, but I have to believe Ms. Locke suffers because of her size and color. Don't get me wrong, I think she is very cute and sexy, but most of America still can't get past some of it's prejudices.

Kimberly Caldwell is still on the show, although she was awful the past two weeks. I rest my case.

I love Clay too, his voice is incredible- but I agree Kimberly Locke deserves a lot more credit. I can't believe she was in the bottom 3! If that is prejudice, it's just horrible. She is beautiful and her voice is too...

I like Clay better than Kim L., because I do, I don't know how to explain it. I also think she is in the top 3. Her looks don't play into how I feel one bit. I personally think she is beautiful, but it is about her voice, not looks. Though I do agree that some people aren't voting on based on talent.

I have to agree with Simon about Clay, he belongs on Broadway. I honestly can't see myself going out and purchasing anything done by this guy. In fact, I wouldn't even file share it.

Yes - Broadway - finally someone else has said it. That's exactly where he belongs (that or Vegas). For it is there that small dramatic individuals need to carry their voice. It is also on broadway that they can bow and whisper sweet "thank yous" to the crowd while accepting their roses thrown at their feet. Clay will fit right in.

I agree that Clay has a Broadway voice. And I don't mean that in a negative way; I mean it sincerely. I think he'd be perfect for Broadway. His voice is more theatrical than pop star.
I wonder if he ever did any drama in high school, because I think that's where he'd thrive.

Why does everyone say "Clay belongs on Broadway" with such a negative connotation? Would being a Broadway star really be such a failure? Also, there are many "Pop" stars that have also done Broadway....I don't think it is fair to pidgeon-hole and type-cast someone before they even begin their career.

Besides, "Pop" music stands for "popular." It is not defined by one genre or look...it is defined by what is popular with the public at that point in time and changes constantly. Therefore, any of these contestants could be a "Pop Star" if they are what the public likes at the time.

I, personally, speak of him being on Broadway with no negative conotation. I merely state such because it seems more his style.

Neither do I. I stated that in my post, but apparently the words "I mean it sincerely" were not clear enough.
