In 1930, a worldwide depression hit Germany and Hitler promised to rid Germany of Jews and Communists and to reunite the German speaking part of Europe. After Hitler came to power, sales of Mein Kampf skyrocketed, making him a rich man. In Germany, where newlyweds received a copy of the book from the government, 6 million copies had been issued by 1940, and by 1942, Hitler himself boasted that Mein Kampf had the largest sales of any book in the world – apart from the Bible. By one estimate, Hitler received $1 million a year in royalty payments alone.
Adolf Hitler's war with the Jews now stepped up in pace. Whereas before, anti-Semitic rhetoric helped the Nazis get elected, now they had the power to put some of their ideas into action. In April 1933, Jews were banished from government jobs, a quota was established banning Jews from university, and a boycott of Jewish shops enacted.
In 1935, the infamous Nuremberg Laws were passed. These classed Jews as German "subjects" instead of citizens. Intermarriage was outlawed, more professions were closed to Jews, shops displayed signs reading, "No Jews Allowed." Harassment was common.
In another attempt to purge Germany of her Jews, a roundup of Jews with Polish citizenship was enacted in October 1938. These Polish Jews were herded like cattle and dumped at the Polish border, where the Poles kept them in no-man's land. One deported family wrote to their son who was studying in Paris, Herschel Grynszpan. When he heard of the torments his parents went through, he resolved to avenge them and shot a German official, vom Rath, stationed in Paris.
This small rebellion was a perfect opportunity for Adolf Hitler to rise up in indignation. The Nazis called for demonstrations, and violence erupted across Germany for two days. Stores were destroyed, synagogues burned, and twenty thousand Jews arrested.
The riots came to be known as Kristallnacht - the Night of Glass, for all the broken glass.
All his life Adolf Hitler was seized by an obsession with the Jews and he had always been straightforward about his plans. His dream of a racially "pure" empire would tolerate no Jews and he announced at many occasions the "annihilation of the Jews" living in the territory under his control.
In Hitler's mind, murdering millions of Jews could only be accomplished under the confusion of war - from the beginning he was planning a war that would engulf Europe ..
Hitler's very first political statement, his letter to Adolf Gemlich on 16 September 1919, already includes a clear declaration of his anti-Semitic position: "Rational anti-Semitism on the other hand, must lead to a systematic legal opposition and elimination of the special privileges that Jews hold, in contrast to the other aliens living among us (alien's legislation). Its final objective must unswervingly be the removal of the Jews altogether."
In those early days he often spoke of how he would deal with the Jews. His favourite words were Ausrottung (extirpation), Vernichtung (annihilation), Entfernung (removal), Aufräumung (cleaning up). Thus according to a police report of a NSDAP meeting on 6 April 1920 he declared:
".. we have no intention of being emotional anti-Semites who want to create the atmosphere of a pogrom. Instead, our hearts are filled with an inexorable determination to attack the evil at its roots and to extirpate it root and branch. In order to reach our goal every means will be justified, even if we have to make a pact with the devil."
In another speech on 12 April 1922 he said, referring to the Jewish Question: "Here, too, there can be no compromise - there are only two possibilities: either victory of the Aryan or annihilation of the Aryan and the victory of the Jew."
Hitler wrote Mein Kampf in Landsberg prison in 1924 and the destruction of the Jews is advocated time and again:
"It is the inexorable Jew who struggles for his domination over the nations. No nation can remove this hand from its throat except by the sword ... Such a process is and remains a bloody one."
On 21 January 1939 Adolf Hitler told the Czech Foreign Minister Chvalkovsky: "We are going to destroy the Jews ... The day of reckoning has come."
Hitler avoided giving a clear written order to exterminate Jewish civilians and he avoided speaking openly about killing in his entourage. On 29 April 1937 he told his Nazi leaders:
"Everything that can be discussed should never be put in writing, never!" However, there is clear evidence that he was deeply involved in the anti-Jewish policy before and during the war, particularly when it reached a murderous stage.
Hitler was fully responsible for the order for the mass executions in Poland in 1939 and 1940. He was also actively engaged in setting up plans for a Jewish reservation in Poland and he backed the Madagascar plan. He was continually preoccupied with further deportations and deportation plans.
In 1941 Hitler ordered the extermination of the "Jewish-Bolshevist intelligentsia" and the elimination of every potential enemy in the occupied Eastern territories. He was fully aware of mass executions of Jewish civilians in these territories.
In mid September 1941 Hitler ordered the beginning of mass deportations from Germany to ghettos in Eastern Europe. During autumn 1941 and the following winter, when preparation for the Final Solution in Europe were in full swing, Hitler spoke at various occasions openly about the annihilation of the Jews in Europe.
From a number of letters and speeches of SS Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler it becomes clear, that he referred to the Holocaust as a task which he had to carry out on the behalf of the highest authority in the Third Reich - Adolf Hitler.
In 1941, Himmler summoned Rudolf Hoess, SS Kommandant of the largest killing center ever created, the death camp Auschwitz. He told him that "the Fuhrer had given the order for a Final Solution of the Jewish Question" and that "we, the SS, must carry out that order."
In December 1942, Himmler sent a note to Heinrich Müller, head of the Gestapo, in which he stated:
"The Fuhrer gave orders that the Jews and other enemies in France should be arrested and deported. This should take place, however, only once he has spoken with Laval about it. It is a matter of 6-700.000 Jews."
Private diaries of Nazi propaganda maestro Joseph Goebbels and Himmler unearthed from the secret Soviet archives show that Adolf Hitler personally ordered the mass extermination of Jews on December 12, 1941, during a meeting of Nazi German regional governors in the chancellery.
As Goebbels wrote: "With regards to the Jewish Question, the Fuhrer decided to make a clean sweep ..."
At the Klessheim conference on the 17 and 18 April 1943, according to the protocol, Hitler noted, in regard to the Jews in Poland: "If the Jews there don't want to work they will be shot. If they cannot work, they must rot. They should be treated like tubercular bacillus which could attack healthy bodies. That is not cruel - if one keeps in mind that even innocent natural beings like hares and deer must be killed so that no damage occurs."
In Germany concentration camps were set up after 1933 to detain without legal procedure Jews, Communists, Gypsies, homosexuals, and others. During world war II extermination, or death, camps were established for the sole purpose of killing men, women, and children.
In the most notorious camps - Auschwitz, Treblinka, Sobibor and Majdanek in Poland, Buchenwald and Dachau in Germany - more than 6 million people, mostly Jews and Poles, were killed in gas chambers. Millions of others were also interned during the war, and a large proportion died of gross mistreatment, malnutrition, and disease.

The Nazi regime came to power after World War I and left a mark on the world that will never be forgotten. The regime persecuted innocent people, torturing and killing millions of them. They were led by the dictator Adolf Hitler who controlled Germany from 1933 to 1945. The regime was in power until World War II, where they were defeated by the United States, Britain, the Soviet Union, and other nations in 1945; and the Nazi government collapsed. The dictatorship government controlled all facets of life in Germany. Hitler’s goals were only beneficial to his party and disregarded the thoughts and feelings of minorities in Germany and other countries. These minorities living in and around Germany lived in fear for their lives, and for many of them, their fears became reality. The reason for Hitler’s hatred of Jews was that “he perceived the Jews as the source of Germany’s World War I defeat.” (Breitman 49) One of the greatest evils of the Nazi regime was the attempt to genocide the German society through the use of concentration camps, such as Auschwitz, where numerous cruelties took place against millions of Jews and other minorities. This genocide was called for by the “Final Solution,” which was a plan made by leaders to do something about the Jewish people.
Hitler had a plan called “The Final Solution,” which called for the murder of all European Jews. Jews were moved from ghettos and cities and brought to concentration camps. (Laqueur 11) This plan was supposed to be secret, but information about it leaked out in different ways to outsiders and Jews living in Europe. Nazi authorities made determined efforts to spread misleading information about the fate of Jews so outsiders would not know exactly what the plan included. (Laqueur 17) The Jews had a sense of what was coming, but most of them could not do anything about it. Everyone in and around Germany knew about the death camps, but everyone acted as if they did not exist. People wanted to believe that something that terrible was really not occurring. The solution was made to answer the Jewish question of what to do with them. “It was a last resort--the only option remaining consistent with the Nazi belief that Jews represented a mortal danger to the Third Reich.” (Breitman 23) The Nazis were extremely powerful, and really didn’t need to fear the Jews. Hitler had many strong beliefs about racial issues, as he “wanted to dispose of at least the Jews, Gypsies, blacks, and patients who would in Germany fall victim to the euthanasia operations. In his eyes, all of these groups represented either sources of contamination or defects in the German genetic pool.” (Breitman 191) Jewish people are no different from any other race of people, but Hitler had enormous hatred against that race which was built up through the years. The Nazis’ killing and torturing of the Jews can be seen as the taking out of frustration and shear hatred towards Jews.
The Nazi regime put minorities, especially Jewish people, through abuse that no one should ever have to endure under any circumstances. In concentration camps, they were treated as animals, being tested for medical uses, and were killed by the masses. Nazis wanted to divide Jews from the rest of the population and they barraged the public daily with complaints and threats against the Jews. (Melitzer 33) In this way the Nazis wanted to make it seem that the Jews were doing something wrong and that they deserved punishment. The use of concentration camps could have been the worst evil of the Nazi regime as the workers there treated the captured minorities as if they were not humans. One of the main camps was Auschws called sonderbehandlung, ‘special treatment’.” (Gilbert 239) This camp was the site of terrible torture and an enormous amount of deaths as it was “ready to receive Jews from all over Europe: to gas the old, the sick, and the infirm and the young, and to ‘select’ the able-bodied for forced labor and medical experiments.” (Gilbert 375) Numerous camps were setup all over Nazi Germany that served some different purposes. All the camps could move minorities in extremely fast and kill them by the thousands even faster. These are just some of the tortures that went on at concentration camps like Auschwitz.
Life in the concentration camps was short and miserable for every prisoner there. On arrival in Auschwitz, the prisoners were evaluated and many were put to work digging ditches and moving earth. (Gilbert 122) Before prisoners were killed, they were used to do oppressive jobs in horrendous working and living conditions. Dr. Zymunt Klukowski wrote, “They (prisoners) have to walk several kilometers from the places of work every day, and are continuously beaten. They are plagued with lice.” (Gilbert 122) The prisoners at camps like Auschwitz were treated like they were inferior humans, and could be used in any way the Nazis wanted. The prisoners performed the dirty work like the slaves in America once did. They didn’t have any rights and the one that were kept lived in terrible living conditions that were extremely tough to survive. Another torture included medical experiments on prisoners as doctors tested drugs, different operating techniques, and ways to examine the body. Nazi leaders “decided to start medical experiments in ‘major dimensions’ on Jewish women at Auschwitz.” (Gilbert 373) Both men and women were cut into as if they were animals and had no feelings or emotions. Today we find it cruel to test products and perform medical procedures on animals, but during this time it was acceptable to the Nazis to use fellow humans. Many minorities didn’t go through torture as they were killed upon arrival. “More than half the inmates were killed upon arrival, but others were sent to work in labor battalions and thus survived for several months or even years.” (Laqueur 13) Other experiments were carried out at Auschwitz using Cyclon B to murder several hundred Jews who had been brought to the camp from several cities in Upper Silesia. (Gilbert 291) Jews and other minorities were tricked into going to the camps, and they paid for it as only a few managed to flee the camps. Most of the prisoners were killed and their bodies were cremated. No human deserves to die like that, under any circumstances and the bodies were not given proper burial in any way as many times the corpses were stacked up in piles to rot. Numerous immoral things occurred at concentration camps that made them fearful to all who were in danger of being taken there.

Innocent people were persecuted and tortured because they were not of the “right” ethnic group, the Arian race. They did not do anything wrong, but the Nazi Party emerged as the strongest party in Germany with the idea that the society should be of one ethnic group. They were led by the dictator Adolf Hitler and controlled Germany from 1933 to 1945. The use of concentration camps was one of the worst of the evils of the Nazi regime as minorities, especially Jews, were physically and mentally abused in the concentration camps. Minorities were forced to do manual labor, had scientific experiment perform on them, and live in horrible conditions that killed many before they even reached the gas chambers. The abuse and killing of these minorities increased after the “Final Solution” called for the murder of all Jews throughout Europe. Some Jews and other minorities had the choice to leave Germany, but the majority did not escape as the evil regime killed millions during its years in power with the help of concentration camps like Auschwitz. The Nazi regime was extremely evil in everything it did and had no respect for other humans’ lives. Their actions were not condoned by any means because the minorities that were persecuted were innocent of any wrong doing. The leaders of Nazi Germany had enormous hatred and frustration that culminated in the killing of millions of Jewish people and other minorities. One could not imagine being of Jewish decent during these times of the Nazi regime.

A short-lived attempt in our time to revive the iron-hard spirit of the Roman empire was the Nazi's "thousand-year kingdom", which, however, only lasted 12 years. In this kingdom we not only include Nazi Germany, but also its most important allies, such as Austria, Italy and Japan. Hitler's goal was to introduce a new heathenism called the "superman", which implied the Arian race's domination of the whole world.
After being leader of the Nazi party, he acquired power in Germany in 1933 as the Federal Chancellor. The Parliamentary and judicial systems, which were based upon equality in the law, were thereby eliminated.
The only party left was the Nazi party, which functioned as an obedient executive branch to carry out Hitler's will. Competing parties were dissolved.
He was as treacherous and unreliable towards his own as he was in his external politics. His record became a series of bluffs, lies and broken agreements, as for example, in the peace treaty with the Soviets. But in Nazi propaganda, he was portrayed as a friend of children, and as the unique leader of the people, "der Führer".
Caught off-guard by Hitler's brashness, the European superpowers for all too long gave in to his demands with ill-fated consequences. This cost all of humanity untold suffering during the almost 6 years of the second world war. In addition, at least 6 million Jews lost their lives in Hitler's concentration camps. He blamed the Jews as being the root of all evil on earth.

Hitler misused the term Aryan. The Arayans were an ancient group of people who settled in Inida and introduced the caste system.
Hitler was also not full blooded German. He was in fact, Austrian, and half Jewish (Correct me if I'm wrong on that point.)
The Furher was a very talented politician and was not afraid to do horrible things to achieve his political goals. A few days before the Germans were to vote in a new chancellor, the Reichstag (capital building) burned to the ground. The Nazis blamed the Communists, who at that point had had the majority of support. The Nazi Party won the election by an overwhelming majority. Hitler quickly went about securing power for himself. He established his own personal army; the dreaded SS. He also created a secret police force; the Gestapo. Hitler's first open attack on Jews began in Germany itself. The event became known as "The Night of Broken Glass". The Gestapo invaded homes, destroyed bussineses, and imprisoned or killed those who stood in they're way.
Hitler then proceeded to build up Germany's armed forces, in direct defiance of the Treaty of Versailles. To ensure that his war machine would work at top effeciency, Hitler invaded the Rhineland, a busy industrial center that had been given to France after World War One. While Britian and France were alarmed by this move, they did almost nothing to stop it. Hitler later said that if France or Britian had challenged this move, he would have backed down. With the Rhineland now in his possession, Hitler's war machine went to full scale production. By September of 1939, Hitler and the Nazi Germany were ready to wage war against all who would oppose them.
Love is a very powerful force, especially when its formed into a coherent beam of death.
I don't think Hitler was Jewish but Heydrich ( head of the SS) was Jewish and hated himself for it.
There are a lot of theroies about how Hitler ended up hating Jews one is that he watched his mother who was dying of cancerbe experimented on by a Jewish doctor the other one is that a Jewish prostiitute ( who may have been male by the way) gave him some sort of STI, the most popular one is that he picked up his belifs when he was living as a tramp in Austria spending many hours discussing things like that with other tramps.

You read the mans words and you wonder why anyone would follow someone like that. But Hitler had influence over millions of people.
I saw a old jewish guy on t.v. one time. He said as a kid, he had seen Hitler in one of those propaganda parades. He said, even as a Jew, he could not help but feel caught up in the moment. He said Hitler had a memerising presence.
I have always had a respect and love for Isreal, so it made me angry to read Hitlers words. I think people don't need to immerse themselves in this stuff, but it's good to go over it, because history repeats itself.
It could happen again if the world is not careful.

By Heydrichs own admission he was a Jew, after a dinner party with some of his closet friends he looked at him self in a mirror and screamed "filthy Jew" before msashing the mirror with a wine goblet and leaving the building in tears.
It was insanity brought on by the fact that he had to deny what he was and had to hate what he was. That would drive me insane, many say they way he treated Jews was that he belived if was to soften up on them he would eb found out and this led to terrible treatment of Jews under his demand all high ranking officlas including Hitler called him the blond beast because of what he did to people.
The important thing to remeber about a lot of the Nazi leadership is that they were crazy but in no way were they stupid a lot of them were apparently very clever individuals.
I don't think they were insane, or crazy. They were just filled with an intense and incredible hatred, and that governed their actions and thoughts. And like hell they weren't responsible for their actions! Hatred, bigotry and racism is no justification for what these people did!
