This past week has been like a soap opera for Portsmouth Football Club and its fans.
Firstly news about Jim Smiths possible sacking, then Milan denying it, Then Harry denying it and saying that the chairman was after a new coach, in comes the name of George Leekeens and the media say that Jim Smith is gone, then a war of words between Harry an Milan and now a truce.
I beliive that the chairman should keep his nose out of the the issue regarding who Redknaap wants as his assistant, do you think Harry has a say about the clubs accountants? no chance because that is not his place, I thin thouigh that the chairman was well out of order in sayin that Redknapp wanted Smith to go, I do not belive that for a minute why owuld Redknapp create such a fuss if he was getting what he wanted?
Shame really it is a dark cloud over what has been a bright season.
What you have to remember about Milan Mandaric is that he came in five seasons ago and saved Pompey from being abolished, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have Portsmouth Football Club.
He pays the wages of the players and back room staff and should have a say in how many are bought, who is bought and what they are paid. In the end it would be Harry Redknapps decision on who was in the back room staff but if it wasn't for Milan Mandaric we would not have bought Yakubu Ayegbeni, Dejan Stefanovic, Harold Wapenaar, Boris Zivkovic (our only bad signing) and we would of had Lomana Tresor Lua Lua.
Milan shouldn't of said what he did about Harry but Harry shouldn't have said what he did about Milan, none of it was needed. Somehow the news of Milan and Harrys unfinished meeting got into the media, and with Milan in Serbia he couldn't clear anything up or talk to the coaching staff.
I think it was all a missunderstanding and the media blowing things out of propotion again. Lets just hope they can sort things out because we dont want to loose Milan Mandaric or Harry and Jim, especially to Spurs.
The Pompey chimes have ended this season with spectacular fashion, making Yakubu one of the only people to have score Four Goals in a premiership match, a list which includes Shearer.
I turning this into a Pompey news thread but dont hestiate to put your own club info on if you need to.
Yeah but he's 34 years old we will get maybe one decent season out of him. I don't understand McCleish he has made 3 good signings to date ( Boumsong and Andrews and Prso) sining Rae just seems like a step backwards he is a short term solution to what is a long term problem at Ibrox
What about Ronald and Frank DeBeor, dont they want out of Rangers, Alex Rae could be the replacement for Ronald. Besides he is a late bloomer as far as Football is concerned, at least he has been playing constantly at the highest level, unlike Rivaldo
Yeah they are leaving if Roanld passes a medical, but I still think we should have went for somebody in thier mid to late twenties because this time next season we will be looking for another midfielder. Plus that old saying in football never go back could prove to be true for Rae.
In the up coming Friendly international matches you can only wait for the Scottish fans to start chanting Play up Scotland.
In the past season Scotland have called up every main team Scottish player Pompey have and an English/scottish person. Kevin Harper, Richard Hughes and Nigel Quashie. They have yet to use Hughes or Quashie due to injuries but hopefully they will play in the next matches.
George Best recomended Quashie(being that Quashie is Bests favorite player) to Berti Vogts when the scottish manager came to see Pompey play. The natural left-sided midfielder has been called up with his team mate Hughes for the up-coming friendlies.
We will get ebat anyway Estonia are way to good for us. As far as who I would want playing for Rangers I would rather we sue the young boys that have played thier hearts out in the last 7 games, mind you if Henry goes insane and says he wants to swap Londan for Glasgow I suppose that would be alright
Eddie Howe, the forgotten man of Pompey, is fit again and hopes to be pushing for a place next season, while Vincent Pericard, formally of Juventus, is struggling to get himself fit durin the summer.

Quashie and Hughes had a good debut despite being layed out of position and missing a sitter. Quashie linked up well with Ferguson and McFadden and Hughes was good down the left, did a few good crosses and caused the defence some problems.
