Finrod Felagund was my favorite character in the Simarillion and played one of the largest parts in the tales however he did not get a story on his own.
He was the most powerful of Noldorian kings because of his wealth and the size of his kingdom. The deeds of Finrod are many and here you could discuss the deeds of the Hewer of Caves himself.
He gave up the most in his life. He left his only love in Valinor, he seemed to blame himself for the kinslaying of the Alqualonde, he took responisbility for the edain that dwelt in the wests behavior and he gave his life for Beren.
I liked how Tolkien mentioned that upon his death, Finrod's spirit returned to Valinor, and appearently was reincarnated, allowing him to be with his father, Finarfin. It would seem that Finrod's deeds granted him certain priviledges, such as not having to wait in Mandos for a great length of time.
Love is a very powerful force, especially when its formed into a coherent beam of death.
Well that is the fate of the elves, if they are killed in Middle-earth they are reincarnated in Valinor to live forever (or until Dagor Dagoreth) in peace.
Finrod was also the dwarves most beloved of elven-kings. They loved his halls of Nargothrond, they named him Felagund (hewer of caves) and they made Nauglamir for him. That, for those of you who don't know, was the greatest piece of jewelry the dwarves ever made, it was a jewel incrusted necklace that later had a Silmaril embedded into it.
only Thingol could come close to the amount of adoration that Finrod recieved from Elf and Dwarf.
