I think he is good for the role of Spiderman. He has that innocent Peter Parker look. He isn't bad.

I didn't initially like him as PP. I thought that Jake Gyllenhaal would've been a better choice, at least in body type, to represent Spiderman. Spidey is supposed to be something like 5'10", not 5'7", and I don't know about anyone else, but I think I notice the difference on screen... Maybe I'm knit-picking...

Anyways, I've grown to enjoy Tobey in the role.

I thought this sequel was fantastic. I only hope they do 3, and no MORE than that (Kirsten Dunst has said Raimi will only do one more film, which is being written as we speak, and that's it...and that means that's it for her and Tobey too since they love the guy). But anyway, my hopes for SP-3 is that they don't push the Green Goblin thing too far and it's settled early in the movie, with Venom coming into the picture as well. That would rock.

I thought the 2nd one was nothing but a love story. I hope the 3rd one kinda moves away from the "spider-man & MJ love" just not...good to me....I like it better when Spider-man is fighting and being a SUPERHERO....point of the movie

post #12  quote:

I guess the love story bit is layed on thickly, but really, the comic is also about that whole relationship aspect. You need something like that to give meaning to a comic book movie; otherwise we'd just have The Hulk all over again. I thought this sequel was great BECAUSE of the love story, not in spite of it, and it gave a deeper meaning to the movies - I'm glad they don't focus just on action because we get plenty of that anyway. How many times do we need to see Dr. Ock and SpiderMan go at it? How much CGI do we really need? Now that PP and MJ are together, I'm sure they'll figure out a way to have their relationship strain; I only hope MJ isn't once again the damsel in distress at the end of the movie; that would be lame. That said, man, MJ is with a different guy every couple of months - Flash, Harry, the astronaut...lol.

I'm sure we'll see SpiderMan almost die or get seriously injured for once, instead of just having his head bounce off cars as he tries to leap buildings like he did when he was in high school. I'm sure they'll get off the love story a bit too, but Raimi has said that PP has to be unhappy, he can't be content, becuase who wants to watch a content PP swinging through the city and stopping bank robbers? He always has to be down and out in his personal life, that's the idea of splitting his time between SpiderMan and PP.

I think Tobey Magurie is good for the part, because he's sort of dorky and quiet, like he's shy and stuff. I liked the movie a lot. SO much.
