Lesbian comic Ellen DeGeneres is preparing to marry her girlfriend in a summer ceremony, according to a source.
The comedian -- who provided the voice for forgetful fish Dory in "Finding Nemo" -- is poised to wed her lover Alexandra Hedison after living together for three years.
DeGeneres and photographer Hedison have been wearing each other's rings for a year.
A source says, "Ellen's bug-eyed bursting in love with Alexandra, but she wants a low-key wedding so it will not interfere with her professional life."
DeGeneres -- who hosts her own TV chat show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" -- enjoyed a high-profile relationship with actress Anne Heche, who went on to marry cameraman Coley Laffoon in 2001.
Rumor mills are clouded with wedding chit-chat for Ms. DeGeneres. Ellen and her girlfriend of three years, Alexandra Hedison, have been wearing each others rings for the past year and the talk is that there is a summer wedding in the works. Ellen's spoesperson flatly denies the story.
However another source says that the wedding is on but they are trying to keep the story under wraps after the very public break up with Anne Heche. The source says that, “she’s bug-eyed bursting in love with Alexandra, so she wants a big wedding. . . . but she also wants to low-key it.”
Whether it's a rumor, or not, I wish Ellen and Alexandra the best of luck, and happiness.
It's great to know that she's found someone since Anne Heche did the crap that she did about 4 years ago. She's happy now, and if she chooses to mary Alex or not, I'm just glad that she's found someone who knows what, and who, she wants.

Oh, she just up and one day said... "Im not gay. Goodbye!" She just walked away from her 2+ year relationship, after all this stuff where she was in the media, saying how much she loved Ellen, etc...
I used to go to a church in the Kansas City area, when I lived out there. Anne Heche's mother and sister came to this conference there, and they both spoke, and they said that their entire family, and church, had been praying that Anne would leave Ellen, and that lifestyle... and that they continuously talked to her about how she was living against the Lord, and was in sin. Personally, I think that her family pressured her into what she did.

I always felt that Anne Heche used Ellen to get her name out there, an once it was and she got a few movies, she dropped Ellen like a hot potato.
Anne Heche is a BIG loser! Oh...and on top of it...she has a lot of mental problems....remember that thing about her running into the desert because she thought she saw aliens or thought aliens were after her..(it was something like that)...and anyhow..she admitted it on a Barbara Walters special or something....so its not like Im making this up.
Good for Ellen....she deserves the best...because after all, we always get the best entertainment from her! She is hilarious!

Shame on her, really. I can't believe someone would be that stupid. I agree with mystic... used Ellen to get her name out there... but now where is she? Ha! Nowhere!

I thought she ran into some stranger's house after her and Ellen broke up and started crying and screaming at the strangers. Maybe she also tried to trash their house?
Anne Heche took something, and also had some strange trip. She walked up to someone's house, asking to use the phone, and they ended up keeping her there, talking to her, until the cops and paramedics could get there to take her. She was talking about all sorts of crazy stuff.
Yes, I remember that interview, mystic. She was talking in some strange language, to her "angel" or something. Said that she wasn't from here, and was communicating with other beings, or something like that. I'm talking WAAAAY out there. Ellen is so much the better now, and she's happy as well.
