I thought it was well done and enjoyed the subtitles.
I've seen goryier movies and didn't think it was that bad.
I think MG did a great job in showing the suffering for us all. Although some how I think it was much worse than depicted.

I think this is a brilliant film, and it shows Mel Gibson's powers as a filmmaker. There is a lot of *****ing going on about the violence, but I feel that Mel is trying to get a point across - in previous movies about Jesus, we've all been sugar-coated in terms of viewing the Crucifixion, and it's all too easy to look away and say "how sad", while at the same time, not really grasping the enormity of what He endured. Mel is putting it in our face, to say, "THIS is what Christ went through for us; deal with it, and you can't look away or pretend it wasn't as horrible as it was." Of course, Christians will view this film in a totally different way from non-Christians (and certainly Jews - I can't deny that I felt a slant against the Jews depicted in the film). To each his own. I would hope that any film is judged on it's artistic merit, but this one is in a class by itself; the topic - rather than the technique - will overshadow most discussions.
I would recommend it, but definitely with a strong will and a big box of Kleenex....
i personally loved how it wuz done in arabic w/ the subtitles...and it wuz a very personal movie newayz, it really hurt you to see ur savior dying up on the cross for you. but it brought my relation ship with him closer and much broader. and the fact that it wasnt nearly as grusum as Jesus's real death had been...upsets you.
I think Mel did a good job tho! kudoz to him for fighting the crowd and putting out another amazing movie.
its taken decades for emcees to establish this.

I did not see the movie so I didn't vote. I just am wondering
about the word ENJOY in thread statement. from what I
got from all the publicity about the movie ENJOY doesn't seem
to be the proper word. but since I am a non-believer (I love
Jesus as a man and a great philosopher)I understand that
I may not appreciate the enjoyment that perhaps some may
get from seeing their beliefs portrayed as they deem correct
as enjoyment. But spending 2 hours in a theater watching
a great man get tortured to death does not appeal to me.
(now 2 hrs watching Osama bin Laden being tortured to death
now that I will watch :lol
Karma, you take care of it and it will take care of you.
Maybe enjoy was a wrong choice of wording, perhaps "were you moved? would you recommend it to someone else?"
I haven't seen it yet either, Once all the attendance slows down, my BF and I will go see it. (I hate going to the theater)
Every person I've spoken to said the same thing:
"Moving, powerful, you could hear a pin drop in the theater. No one got up to use the bathroom, no one coughed, no one talked to their neighbor, the entire theater was mezmorized."
Those are the exact words I've heard from many different people (who don't know each other). I'm intrigued, so I will definitely see it. But I'm willing to bet that those comments I mentioned will be valid.
P.S. I'm with you on the Osama thing. It should be a globally televised event on Pay Per View. The revenue from PPV could pay off the national debt!

I think that the Passion of Christ is a great movie and extremely well done. I don't think that the movie was too gory or graphic. I think that the amount of gore was necessary to accurately portray the last 12 hours of Jesus' life on earth. Although I am an ardent Catholic, I do not think the Passion was in any way anti-Semetic. I do not think there is any way for someone to say that the movie is anti-Semetic-the leading rabbi in the United States even said in an interview with Diane Sawyer, "The Passion is not anti-Semetic in my point of view." Thanks. The Passion is the greatest portrayal of the passion of Christ ever made.
As most of you know I am not religious but I went to see the movie because of all the publicity against it. I have to say that it was well worth the money spent on it. It was extremely well done and the subtitles added more reality to the movie. The amount of gore portrayed was necessary to show the extent of suffering this man went thru. I saw many people crying through-out the whole movie! Mel Gibson did a fine job with it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and believe that the public (especially those claiming it is anti-semitism), should stop prejudging the movie, see it, and then judge it.
I have seen many movies about Christ and most of them were poorly translated from Bible to movie. This is the best and most realistic portrayal I have ever seen.
I have seen bloodier movies then this, more graphic movies - but this is the most heart wrenching movie I have ever seen due to the way it was created and for what Christ stands for.
Well I believe enjoy is an alright term. I mean it could have been worded several different ways, no need to discuss that this about how good or bad or how you liked the movie. I myself liked the movie. I am glad all the major and small companys turned Mel Gibson down. Because now it did so good and they are all crying there a55's off. All the company's that turned him down have already called him back up and asked if he would like them to put the DVD's and VH'S out. LMFAO, now there interested, funny how that works. Also I think another reason most compony's turned him down is because most people that work in the indusrty are Jews. More then 75%. So I mean they didnt want people to know what there own kind did to Christ, would you? But now that the moviw did good there all money hungry and they now put there kind to the side. I think its hilarious! Word to ya mutha!
