Post Matrix Inrelation with Hindu Philosophy post #1  quote:

Hello Everyone,
The movie and the main charecter Neo of Matrix has been related to mostly life of Jesus, with many refrences. Which are alot similar. One thing, I would like to tell everyone is that, Matrix is even similar to hindu philosophy in some respects. Like this world is considered as a dream dreamt by Lord Vishnu. This whole world is just an illusion. When one comes to know about its true form and connects with the source(lord Vishnu), he is liberated from the boundaries of this physical world. He can do things like Neo does. The attachments to mortal things (in the movie Neo towards Trinity) are the problems, once a person understands the truth he gets liberated (like neo in the end). This is really a great movie. If anyone finds anything incorrect please correct me.

Thanks

Vishnu post #2  quote:

How old is this idea that Vishnu dreams our reality? Where can I find primary sources that are substantiated with notes or commentary on this idea? Do Hindus have a codified form of doctrine that mentions this? It is a fascinating idea, and one that, like all creation myths, attempts to explain our reality in supernatural ways. Any info on this would be appreciated.

It sounds to me a lot like the original fall story of Lucifer and his fallen angels. (Milton's Paradise Lost goes into the details on this matter, although PL is strictly uninspired literature). In a sense this is exactly what happened to them, only the consequences have lasting negative effects including banishment from heaven and eternity in hell after Judgment Day.

But the idea that Lucifer (or Vishnu) broke away into a "hyperreality" after he "fell" is intriguing. I wonder if the Bros. had any of this in mind.

Anyone else has thoughts on this?

Hello Charash
,
Well to find out more about Lord Vishnu and that philosohy u will have read Book The Bhagwat Gita, narrated by the Lord Vishnu`s avtaar Krishana. Or refer to the vedas or u can visit the site http://www.koausa.org/Gods/God3.html. The Indian scriptures are not codifies or something but they are written in mostly sanskrit language. But many of the doctrines are translated to other languages. U might find most of it on the web , but many things are not reveled to everybody. For that u will have to visit India. An ocean of knowledge n descripton is waiting for everybody.

Always welcomed.

About lucifer , I dont know much but i think he signifys evil and Lord Vishnu is a protector of GOOD. Or He is the supreme SOUL from which every soul comes and reunites into it.
