Questions about Seraph post #1  quote:

Does anyone know why everytime the matrix is shown in three dimensional code, all programs, people and objects are green, but Seraph glows orange? Also, does anyone have any info on the history of Seraph and Smith and their dialog in Revolutions?
yes, i know that "seraph" or "seraphim" was the gaurdian "angels" of "god" and that merovingian called him, in french, "angel without wings". im not naive.

Also though Neo was just getting warmed up, he did manage to go toe to toe with him for a little bit atleast compared to other programs.

I think the dialog between Seraph and Smith confirmed the fact that Seraph is an exile and Smith chased him as part of his job when he was an agent.

indeed.
That and the fact that Seraph says he protects that which matters most
Some would say the Oracle, I think its the future.
He leaves the Oracle to go off with Trinity and co. and again to try to protect Sati. His role was to protect the future of mankind.

Extrapolations and speculation may have logic but they only bring more skepticism and doubt.

the machines created a program to protect the future of mankind? that still doesnt answer my question why he was glowing orange..

I don't think that was his initial purpose. My theory is that when Oracle 'took' him away from the Merovingian, he (or perhaps she) designed a new purpose for him.

Exactly. We all see seraph described as "wingless" and "Judas" as if he was a betrayer. He has a different role to play now, and as we can see he is pretty good at whooping @ss

The orange glow. Well its not totally orange like we see when NEO is at the source in Rev. Its a distinction. Seraph is no longer governed by the machines (agents) nor does he do as he chooses (Merv). he protects the OTHER side. but is STILL a program. he is not their for profit or gain but to help. he can be called "enlightened" - another religious explanation

hmm, there has to be a reason why hes that colour though... like a proper reason the brothers decided to have that.
All the other programs including the Oracle and the matrix version of Neo were standard matrix green yet they put this scene in and made him special. hmm...

post #9  quote:

If you really need a reason heres one

In the Matrix everyone is a GREEN tinge. Outside the Matrix is a BLUE tinge. When NEO "sees" the source he sees it in ORANGE

Seraph has an orangish tinge mostly because he was meant to be used to help NEO reach the source. Remember the machines need NEO to reeboot the Matrix since they cant delete his code and to do that he needs to get to the source.

To add to this. WE know nothing about how the source "looks" until Revolutions and thats in the third movie. Then you go, "wait, isnt Seraph kinda.......ohhhhhhhhhhhhh"

Its a theory. But i dont really delve that deep into the movie. I realized it isnt that complex, it has alot of religious intonations, like i mentioned before.

Oh I'd be happy to say they just did it for giggles , I do think that this one may have been done for a reason though, anyhow, as good an explanation as any

I think Seraph glows an orange tint because it recalls the fact that the seraphim--"burning ones"--are the highest level of angels in heaven and exist closest to God; therefore, the orange symbolizes these flames. Of all the angels that rebelled against God, Lucifer--" the shining one"--led them and was the highest of these seraphim. Perhaps that might be why Mero. calls him Judas in M2.

When Seraph says he "protects that which matters most," I think he is actually referring to Neo--not the Oracle--and thus echoes the original relationship between the angels and God, for Neo symbolizes God as Savior in all three films.

I am convinced that these films are religious allegory, and my background in literature and theology reinforces this interpretation. What else explains the mass appeal the films have to those of religious affinity or those who are not religiously inclined? The films remind us all that what we search for the most in life is Truth.

the reason that people with religious affinity (trinity's sister?) take to the matrix movie is because they are scavengers. byah
