Absolutely phenomenal film!!! Great fight scenes, great scenery! I'm very pleased at how it turned out -- seeing as it was the most difficult to accomplish.

Saw the movie: 7:30 pm on 12/17/03

Movie Rating: 4.8/5
(not many things are perfect... )

They left out the scouring of the shire! Its one of the best parts of the book.....that said, the movie was amazing. I nearly wept twice, I nearly lept out of my seat a handful of times, and all of the hair on my body stood on end about a dozen times. brilliant. I am impressed.

The LOTR Trilogy is THE best series of films I know of!!! One thing I don't like is the lack of Salomon in the 3rd. Where'd he go? He wasn't disposed of, which leads us to believe he's still out there creating trouble.

I think you mean Saruman. As for him, although it is not shown in the movie, in the book he is killed by Wormtongue near the end of the story.

I thought it was wonderful, however, I thought that TT was much better. ROTK just did not hold true enough to Tolkien for me to be over the moon for it. I am dying to see all the deleted scenes. That will put me in the love it to death category.
