i loved next generation! i was so happy they decided to release them all on dvd because they take up a lot less room that all those old vhs tapes. the character dynamics were so wonderful. i can watch next generation without end. i never tire of those episodes. i don't think i could choose a favorite character but i guess if i had to it would be geordi just because i'm a techie as well as a trekkie. but picard is the man. loved worf, data, and riker as well.
the original series always makes me smile when i watch it though. i remember my dad was a big fan of the original series. we would watch it anytime it was on. i pretty much grew up on next gen though. it started when i was in 7th grade and went right through graduation. star trek was a great way to spend an hour each week.
Larke2000 said this in post #7 : i just can't get into it. though li'l miss vulcan is scorchin'!!!!
Can't get into it? I find it quite interesting that Vulcans used to have an upturned nose before the Federation was formed. Also, the Temporal Cold war is quite interesting, even though sometimes implausible.
As for li'l miss vulcan, what makes you think there is anything 'li'l' about her?

T'Pol is very hot. I liked the decontamination room, with the steam...... Oh, sorry...
I'd have to go with TNG. That's the one that grabbed me. I didn't like Star Trek until TNG came along. I saw one episode, and that was it... I was hooked, and it was TNG that got me interested in DS9 and Voyager, as well as Enterprise (so did Jolene Blalock. HOT!!). The original series annoyed me. I never liked Kirk. I only liked Spock and Scottie. The Tribbles episode got on my last nerve...
I don't find Jolene Blalock as hot when I see her without her black hair and costume. Strange. She looks okay, but not hot. Is there anything wrong with me?

Sure Tasha Yar existed. The Enterprise went up against Tasha's daughter, who was part Romulan. That was from the episode where she went back in time through a rift to help fight a battle (with the Enterprise C?) to protect something... Was it Kittimer? I can't remember... They defended some outpost, or something... But Tasha Yar was a part of that. She affected at least 2 different timelines, so she existed, AND had some impact on the Enterprise. Her story was one of time paradoxae (is that the correct pluralization???). So, she did exist...
Therefore, I can dislike her all I want, cuz she had a role in the series, but I didn't like the way she was played by that lady who played her. Tasha Yar should've been more angry. She should've been more warrior-like. She should've been more prone to go against orders (I would think, more like Ensign Ro Laren, the hot but difficult Bajoran...), because of her rough background and everything that she went through. There should've been a deeper scar inflicted upon her psyche, but I don't recall seeing much of that...
Anyways... I just didn't like how Tasha's character was presented, or how she supposedly developed through the series. She sucked, man... In fact, I think her character was brought back later in the series for that Enterprise C episode, just to give the character of Tasha Yar some meaning, because she really didn't have much during the series...
