J.K Rowling quotes for the last 2 books post #1  quote:

Here are some quotes that I found :

JK said at the Royal Albert Hall that a hint of what was coming in HP6 was in the book she is now reading. In 'Bless Me Ultima' an owl contains the spirit of a good witch named Ultima. Fawkes may carry the spirit of Dumbledore, and only when this phoenix is destroyed can Dumbledore be killed

That is really interesting. I wonder if it is Dumbledore that the spirit has in it, maybe James?

In a recent Interview on the BBC, Rowling has said that said that someone important dies and someone switches houses. Rowling has also indicated that Harry might date in the 6th book, possibly someone new to Hogwarts

The previous quotes were found on the internet on various HP sites. I have not verified their authenticity.

Oh man... someone is going to possibly switch houses?
I wonder how that works... they go to Dumbledore saying that they don't feel that they belong where they are... and he whips out the sorting hat? Hmmmmmm!!! Interesting.

If Harry is to date someone new to Hogwarts, I'm assuming that it would be a transfer student?! He wouldn't date a first year. Or, maybe it's someone that hasn't been mentioned before, but they are in one of the other houses at Hogwarts? Possible!

Can only die if the phoenix dies!!! That's really cool... I guess that we shall see. But, that's an awesome thing to put in the book!!!

Who would transfer houses though? Would a Gryffindor turn evil and go to Slytherin, or would a Gryffindor go to Ravenclaw? Hmm, maybe Luna will come to Gryffindor from Ravenclaw. That would be a good one.

Dumbledore can't die unless Fawkes does. That would be so cool if in the last book it looks like Voldemort killed Dumbledore, Harry gets righteously pissed off and kills him, then DUmbledore returns and says he is his great grandfather. O.K. that is the current record holder for the longest sentence in the HP thread.

Hmm... if someone does move house that would really stir things up, wouldn't it? Especially if Harry went to Slytherin poor guy...

Hmm... but maybe they meant the Weasleys don't feel safe in their current habitat and decide to move in with the Dursleys

that'd go down well hehehe

I don't want Fawkes or Dumbledore to die

post #6  quote:

Professor Snape has always wanted to be Defence Against Dark Arts teacher. In book 5 he still hasn’t got the job. Why does Professor Dumbedore not allow him to be Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher?

JK Rowling: That is an excellent question and the reason is that I have to be careful what I say here. To answer it fully would give a lot away about the remaining two books.

When Professor Dumbledore took Professor Snape onto the staff and Professor Snape said “I’d like to be Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts please” and Professor Dumbledore felt it might bring out the worst in Snape so said “I think we’ll get you to teach Potions and see how you get along there”.

JKR said the last paragraph there? Hmm... interesting

I have a theory that it may just be because Dumbledore is worried that Voldemort will see that Snape is teaching DODA, and will be like:

Wait one cotton picken minute
I think I've been duped...

Those are cools things to think about. I always thought Dumbledore didn't want Snape teaching DADA because he might decide to go back to the Dark Side or something and Snape knows a ton of stuff and everything.

I agree Lil' Washu. I think Dumbledore is anxious not to have Snape indulge in anything to do with the dark arts given his history.

But don't you guys think that Legilimancy too is pretty much a dark art? i mean it's one of Voldy's most important powers. Hey, it's breaking into people's minds just like that. On the other hand, Dumbledore, too, uses it.... Hmmm.

Excellent point Maja. I would say that Legilimancy is a dark art. Remember that someone said that Dumbledore knew the dark arts but just chose not to use them. I think Dumbledore only uses this when he needs to do so. I do wonder if many of the deatheaters can do this?
