The Bengals came into this season with everyone looking down on them. But, to some surprise, they have come back in a big way. Under the helm is Marvin Lewis, who with his great coaching skill, has brought the Bengals back to a respectable form. Corey Dillon has been a huge bust, and now the Bengals are looking to the future with their backup RB Rudi Johnson. At 4-5, the Bengals still have a solid chance at making the playoffs, and they deserve every bit of it. They finally have some good talent, and they are using it very effectively.
I wouldn't go jumping on their bandwagon just yet, but they look a hell of a lot better than they did last year. Kitna is just keeping the kids warm until Palmer comes in next year or the year after.
What about Johnson's guarantee? Anyone think the Bungles... er, I mean Bengals will beat the undefeated Chiefs? I certainly hope so.
Who's fault is it that the Chiefs have the schedule they have? Don't forget that most of the teams we played had a winning record at the time we played them. Is it our fault that a demoralizing loss sent them spiraling into the dumper?
Cincinnati will not beat KC on Sunday. You can wish it all you want. I've heard all the arguments and none of them hold up very well. KC is the better team, is favored to win and is expected to win by most experts. Yeah one or two will throw out the idea that the Bungles are a "dangerous" team to play. Just ask the Cardinals...oops. Good thing we don't play them this year. They would be the dangerous team that beat the dangerous team. You should check out all the boasting going on at some of the Chiefs BBs by your co-Bungle supporters. You'd think that the upset is a foregone conclusion. I see nothing to suggest that will happen although I am willing to listen to a sound and reasoned argument.
