I just came back too.... and man I have so many questions .. first of all "Revolutions" was so much better than "Reloaded"
*What was Oracle's answer to how Neo stopped the Sentinels in Reloaded?
- Funnily enough, I dont remember either
*How long do you think the truce will last?
-I was so sure the machines would go back on their word ... I mean if they were so pure-HEARTED[ahem!!] in the first place to keep their word, why the hell were they so gung-ho on destroying everyone
*Wasn't Smith bad-ass?
-Yep!! ... but he also proved how dumb he was towards the end
Here's what I thought ...
-My mouth was practically open throughout the action sequences .. what imagination!! what adrenaline!! Wow!!
-All the lead characters had max 20 mins screen time each [some, not even that much] .. that pretty much sucked
-The girl, The trainman, The Oracle .. got me all messed up .. as usual. The movie could've done without them.
-The ENDING sucked .... I wasn't expecting that at all!! The whole story seemed like it was a waste of time .. the way they ended it ... not even explaining the whereabouts of certain key characters
So is Neo the One? Did he sacrifice himself for the sake of Zion ..ala Jesus...There were several Jesus type references and images of him in the first two.
*What was Oracle's answer to how Neo stopped the Sentinels in Reloaded?
Neo: ‘Tell me how I separted my mind from my body without jacking in. Tell me how I stopped four sentinels by thinking it. Tell me just what the hell is happening to me.’
Oracle: ‘The power of the One extends beyond this world. It reaches from here all the way back to where it came from.’
Neo: ‘Where?’
Oracle: ‘The Source. That's what you felt when you touched those Sentinels. But you weren't ready for it.’
Neo: ‘The Architect told me that if I didn't return to the Source, Zion would be destroyed by midnight tonight.’
Oracle rolls her eyes.
Oracle: ‘Please. You and I may not be able to see beyond our own choices, but that man can't see past any choices.’
Neo: ‘Why not?’
Oracle: ‘He doesn't understand them. He can't. To him they are variables in an equation. One at a time each variable must be solved then countered. That's his purpose. To balance an equation.’
Im sorry. this is hardly the way to post a first message on the board here, but ihave to disagree with all of you above. Yeah i enjoyed it, i mean its the friggin Matrix, but i am absolutely gutted by it all. I knew goin into it that there were questions that were gonna be left at the end, and i looked forward to them. its not that which bugs me. The ending was just to Hollywood cliche. In a film series that we have come to love over the years, not only for the storyline and for the action sequences, this was a massive let down. In the Matrix i had always been a film that had gone above teh normal level of intelligence used in normal Hollywood movies. That was its attraction, that it actually made you think. Whereas it leaves questions, it was just such a standard Hollywood franchised ending.
"Will we see Neo again?"
"I suppose so"
and
"How long do you expect this peace to last"
Both are statements that are just standard endings throughout hollywood to end a film with the option of additional movies should the work dry up. Granted there is the online game to come after this, but even so, to end the trilogy there was so cliche. Im absolutely gutted. It flies in the face of everything the Matrix had come to represent for me
Originally posted by the_one88 Neo dies, Trin dies, Morpheus lives. Its sad, BUT I F*****G LOVED THIS MOVIE!!! IT IS THE BEST MOVIE SAGA ON THE PLANET!
I'm not too sure that Neo dies, it really seemed that way and they made it seem like he does, but I don't know. It sorta seems like they may have left themselves an "in" if they decide to make a fourth movie.
Or another thought on this, maybe Neo's physical body is dead, but he is still alive in the Matrix, as he had already transcended the Cartesian mind/body split, maybe he went even further. As I'm sure that most of us thought for sure all the programs that Smith had copied himself onto where dead, but they all seemed ok, when it was all said and done.
OH, yeah, and I freaking loved this movie. The action sequences were mind-blowing, for those of you who havent' seen it, buckle up because it's a wild ride.
Incredible, simply amazing. The whole attack on zion had me so tense, the whole feeling of helplessness was almost overwhelming. Trinity and "Merv" LOL. That was so perfect!
Great ending, just about what I expected for the overall ending, but the hows of it were quite surprising. They left room for others to carry on in comics, novels, and hopefully in more anime like Animatrix. Yet the closure of the movie wasn't sacrificed.
trinity gets killed when they crash into the maschine city! by a few spikes or tentekels.
neo is in the crater with smith and neo is loosing.
smith sticks his hands into neo
neo becomes smith
and then
smith says every thing that has a beginning has a end.
ans they all explode
the matrix reloadeds
but there is more but didn't quite get it
