Can the Dallas Cowboys continue their surprising surge against the flawed and still banged-up Philadelphia Eagles, whom they haven't beaten since 1999?
Yes.
It will be extremely difficult. It will take hanging in and hanging on through a low-scoring, back-and-forth defensive brawl, but I believe Bill Parcells has put together yet another team capable of doing exactly that.
The Cowboys' greatest advantage is they have a tough-minded defense. The Eagles have done the smart thing by running the ball more to add balance to their offense and take pressure off Donovan McNabb, but they are likely to come up short on the ground against a defense allowing only 2.7 yards per carry. McNabb will be asked to make some big plays, but he continues to struggle and Dallas' secondary is talented enough to give him fits.
Meanwhile, Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter is at the top of his game. He is doing a great job of hitting his speedy receivers when they're able to get behind coverage, and has kept his mistakes to a minimum with only three interceptions in his past three games.
