Missing The Forest From The Trees post #16  quote:

When judging work and business results, keep your focus on the activities and cumulative results, and not the performer's personalities.
quote:
Ken, I agree that Tana's task was bigger, but I don't think she performed well. Plus her attitude toward her team was horrible. She shouldn't be all cry-baby best friends like Kendra, but you can't treat people like that, regardless if they're idiots.

You see I measure success and performance NOT solely on the outcome as much as individual ingenuity and the exercise of problem solving. Making mistakes is just part of the learning process and individual challenges. It really depends on the job complexity and resources available to the worker. It's a relative measure and the yardstick isn't one size fits all like a pair of pantyhose. For instance, if Kendra juggled one ball and Tana juggled a dozen balls simultaneously. They both have the same number of hands. You get my drift?

I still think Tana has a better track record, but I think Kendra won that final task. Let's see how it plays out. -HECK!

Some here give greater weight to the final episodes, but overall I still think Tana is more of a capable person than Kendra. Even on her worst day against Kendra's best day, Tana still came through completing her tasks. OTOH, had Kendra a bad day, she would have crumbled and drew blank stares and never making it to the finish line. That is one major difference between the two.

There isn't that much doubt that Burnett and Trump assigned these two different level tasks and Kendra was given the breaks to succeed, while the editing focused on Tana's character more so than her business results. The TV kept showing the two balls she drop while successfully juggling the other 10 in the air simultaneously. Of course Kendra look much better with her one ball in the air.

Tana was too cocky and not willing to admit mistakes.

Mistakes will be made in everyday life, wouldn't Trump want someone running a company that is willing to admit when things go wrong?

If they show up and give a rosy senerio all the time, how will he know to trust them or not?

I agree. According to Tana, everything went wonderfully. And if there were problems, they were someone else's fault - never hers. Why didn't she at least glance at the brochure? Why didn't she make sure there would be an American flag for the Governor to carry? "I just assumed" was her answer to that. Since when is that a great trait of an executive?

I got the impression from people at the olympic event they didn't think it was well handled.

Personality is a big part of being a success - Tana turns people off with her's sometimes and has no clue she does.

I don't want Tana to win because of how I perceive she performed on the last task, the way she treated her team, and even people she was supposed to be working with. But it won't surprise me if Trump picks her. I just hope he doesn't.

Ken does have a valid point here. I agree that Tana is still better than Kendra, but I was under the impression that Trump treats the final task as a playoff rather than just another game.

And in a way, I think it's strong that Tana stands by her performance. She never showed weakness and had a lot of balls in the air. The only thing Kendra had to worry about was cleaning a basement for a video game crowd. Tana was dealing with celebrities and world-class athletes. Kendra dealt with video game jerks and one sassy Playstation exec.

Not to mention the teams. How much was Kendra's team shown? They were given no camera time. Meanwhile Tana's insane clown possy was shown every step of the way. And they were a head slap away from being the Three Stooges.

Will Trump Moved By Teardrops Or Motive To Make Money And Protect Image? post #20  quote:

quote:
I was under the impression that Trump treats the final task as a playoff rather than just another game.

I think Trump is very protective of his Apprentice Series because it not only makes money for him and builds him corporate brand image, therefore, he kinda fixes things to make sure they don't embarrass him and his show. The finale is just another way to separate the personalities and profile of the two. All season, Trump has been eliminating the weak Apprentices and he fired Bren week #13 because he wasn't about to take some untrained person for his job position. Kendra has NOT matured yet. Still a little baby... needs potty training and cries when her diaper is wet from stressful situations.
    1. Trump was surprised that Kendra got through that easy PlayStation event this week, because there just wasn't that many details to worry about. Compare that with running a world class Olympic bid. Kendra would have crapped in her thongs and that wouldn't be very nice in front of the corporate sponsors would it? LOL

    2. Trump doesn't like too many surprises that he can't manage. He fired Stephanie in week #10, Kendra's bobsie-twin who also couldn't handle difficult people and was fired for that reason. Do you think that Kendra who was a space cadet for the first half of the season suddenly became a rocket-scientist and found religion to be a super manager of people? Of course not.

Trump was being nice to Kendra and didn't want his sponsors like PlayStation and Best Buys etc to smell Kendra's dirty linen. That would really reflect on him and his future earnings, wouldn't it?
And in a way, I think it's strong that Tana stands by her performance. She never showed weakness and had a lot of balls in the air. The only thing Kendra had to worry about was cleaning a basement for a video game crowd. Tana was dealing with celebrities and world-class athletes. Kendra dealt with video game jerks and one sassy Playstation exec.

In episode #16, the only staff challenge for Kendra was Michael moving around the PlayStation equipment while Tana was juggling multiple tasks simutaneously. Okay Kendra failed Danny and should have managed and attended the PlayStation Executive meeting. Kendra and Tana both had identical resources, a team of four.
    1. Tana had the more difficult team of personalities on her staff to manage and delegate with Kristen and Brian (Can anyone really believe Kristen said her team is one happy family to begin with?)

She decides as usual to get into Brian's face once again and drags off his banners, instead of proof reading own brochure.

    2. Kendra had the easy program. She only answered to Aimee a private sponsor, managing ONE program while the Tana had to orchestrate and answer to multiple demands of a WORLD competition event. Kendra's sponsor wasn't going to break contract via an empty threat: "At this point PlayStation will not pull our sponsorship. I am fairly confident that Kendra will pull off a good event." Kendra didn't even put together an event brochure, because people were there simply to observe a TV demo. The two were like day and night.

Kendra had it easy with Sponsor Aimee's empty threat to pull out.

    3. Tana had to baby sit her 3-idiot staff, wake up and get the 3 lazy people coordinated for Chelsea Pier competition. Kendra had it easy. Despite Tana's repeated wake up calls, her employees were still lounging in bed. "I'm very irritated at my team right now. And I just cannot stand people who are selfish and can't get their @ss out the door. It infuriates me."

    4. Kendra reported to a female client Aimee while Tana had to report to the NY Governor's personal assistant Vinnie whom was MORE demanding. Aimee never asked for the flyer, while Tana had hers delegated to Kristen and it was expected back from the printers. Tana had relied on Kristen but not reviewed the details because Kristen informed Tana that she had taken those data from NYC2012 officials Peter and Amy and printed them verbatim. Tana acted timely, intervened and decided to pull them from distribution.

Crying doesn't fit the Executive image

    5. Tana didn't cry like Kendra during the show. Kendra had it easy the entire competition night. Tana said to Kendra: "I thought you meant crying because the task was so hard...I felt like Kendra's team was stronger than my team."

post #25  quote:

TOP THREE REASONS WHY TANA GOERTZ SHOULD WIN

Trump should hire the better Apprentice - the old fashion way. Out-takes Week #1 Apprenticetv.yahoo.com quotes: When Tana speaks, her Net Worth teammates listen.

1. Tana more hardworking and better record (250% better)- Look past the simplistic W-L stats and behind the numbers to understand the strength and weaknesses between the two finalists. Throughout the first 13 episodes, Tana has undoubtedly the best record. Divide that into first half(head to head) and second half (working jointly)and the meaningful statistics are Tana wins overall record (T=10/12 vs. K=4/12) eliminating week #4 for Dove (both teams lost.) See post below for weekly breakdowns. First Half both 3-3 W-L, while Tana has PM win 1-0 vs Kendra 0-0. Second Half both worked jointly (same W-L) but Tana worked harder, contributing 4 of 6 weeks against Kendra Todd's 2 of 6. Tana helped Kendra win both times as project manager weeks #8 and #12. Kendra didn't in return to Tana as project manager week #11. Kendra is a lazy thief and takes credit for her simplistic overall w-l record, even if you factor in the last two episode #14 and #16 wins stepping up to the finish line at the last minute.

A toast to the real team leader among the top three in episode #13 before splitting off individually: As a reward for winning the office invention task, the candidates of Magna are treated to a casual breakfast with George and Carolyn.
The LEADER that carried all three to win. Kendra during entire episode only carried ad, contributed nothing and didn't say one word during entire American Eagle presentation to the Executives.

2. Tana more transparent, mature and honest manager. She wears a BIG smile, stays upbeat, moves work and workers along and doesn't hold back efforts, creativity nor work contribution. Knows and directs focus towards measured successes. Her peers and subordinates know her expectation. She rolls and wears it on her sleeve. Kendra doesn't walk the talk. She tells Trump one thing about a failed PM Todd week #1 and then does the same thing at week #16 saying she would fire PM for not controlling loose cannon Danny on communications and attire failures. Kendra is dishonest behind that facade.

Those who have observed all episode performances and know the details behind the work value Tana over Kendra.

Kendra carried baloons and didn't do much.

Red Handed: Tana the working mom helps a young Home Depot shopper decorate a storage chest to impress HD Execs.

3. Tana is a working mother trying to gain workplace respect. She's from the older school with working ethics of "you earn it" pitching in BIG ideas. She values family and more of a complete package as Trump said that family preceeds education. Kendra wants people to think she is the complete package. She's from the new school where it's easier to borrow and take other people's ideas by waiting in the wings. Find the opportunity to steal other people's ideas, especially when they're vulnerable. Kendra rides on other people's back. She gets the breaks and capitalizes on them as in the last two episode wins. Tana wasn't dealt the best cards in her career path balancing family and career but she makes the most with her God given ability and more of a role model working mother than Kendra.

Tana thinks BIG and takes charge during the FUSE charity auction with Moby and Lil' Kim. Tana knows when to praise deserving workers and when to step into poor performer's face.

Tana works well with difficult people but will not allow incompetents to sabotage critical events.

She can manage crisis, strong under pressure and hold that Executive Image. Trump To Tana: I admire hard working people balancing their careers. Tana, You're Hired!

Tana Is More Than Twice Better Than Kendra post #26  quote:

"Kendra Todd vs Tana Goertz: Ken NJ's week by week Analysis"

    Tana Record = 7(+2)+4(+1)+2(0)+2(-1) = +16 points
    Kendra Record = 4(+2)+4(+1)+6(0)+1(-1) = 11 points

Week 1 (Burger King) Kendra -1, Tana +2
Tana was upbeat and lead in register point of sales of Western burger. Tana negotiated, picked up Las Vegas giveaway promotional tickets. Got peed on by dog. Kendra did nothing much, quiet at group meetings, criticized own project Manager Todd behind his back and then backstabbed him at boardroom.

Kendra sends Todd and Danny on a joyride getting lost but got a good deal of furnitures to help Michael win.

Tana took charge of lobby and customer service to maximize customer satisfaction and couldn't raise enough of the Yahoo scores. Other team had a newly remodeled lobby, office space and nicer rooms already.

Followed Kristen's orders but can't succeeed.

Michael had to step in to help Kendra finish her thought to Carolyn .

Week 4 (Dove Advertisement) Kendra 0, Tana -1
Tana carried out Project Manager Kristen assignment with the actor/actresses during filming. She was brought into boardroom unjustifiably, while Kendra was AWOL. Both team disappointing to Donnie Deutsch.

Brings home the bacon and her team to the rewards.

Week 5 (Mobile Businesses) Kendra 0, Tana +2
Despite not coming up with the idea, Tana leads volatile team well and wins as PM, while Kendra was AWOL.

Tana works on painting wall and Kendra wearing some funny hat.

Week 6 (Sony PlayStation) Kendra 0, Tana 0
Neither candidate featured much.

Come one, come all: Tana welcomes customers to Net Worth's circus miniature golf course and has most product placement endorsements. Kendra helps PM Stepanie to block out competition on Chelsea Pier.

Week 7 (Miniature Golf) Kendra +2, Tana +1
Kendra comes up with and pulls off exclusive promotion with other businesses, while Project Manager Audrey said to Trump at the boardroom that Tana who worked the most as opposed to her whole team deserved to be in nominated to boardroom
.

Tana is clever, creative, BIG ideas, and adaptive outside her comfort zone to help raise charity appeal to win for Kendra the project manager.

Week 8 (Fuse TV) Kendra +1, Tana +2
Kendra wins as PM, while Tana does an excellent job negotiating with stars and pulls off funny on-air presence.

Tana creates a sign promoting Magna's Home Depot do-it-yourself clinic.

Week 9 (Home Depot) Kendra 0, Tana +2
Home Depot Executives impressed with Tana live demonstration with customer families, involving them in the “do-it-yourself” construction of Craig’s storage box. Tana at first had doubts, but willingly put forth best effort to help team win over Stephanie’s kitchen cart.

Tana sells her colleagues on an Italian-themed pizza creation.

Week 10 (Domino's Pizza) Kendra 0, Tana +2
Tana took leadership position, came up with Mangia Meatball Pie, sauce, sauce, sauce. Cheese, Cheese, Cheese. Both candidates are shown promoting the pizza to local businesses. Tana puts extra sidewalk solicitation and gains large 10 pizza order for office of 35 people to win over Stephanie’s team
.

Magna reviews designs for their line of wearable technology clothing. Craig said that Kendra the misfiring cylander shows up but didn't do any work nor presentation.

Week 11 (American Eagle) Kendra 0, Tana +2
Tana does an impressive job as the winning PM while Kendra failed to come up with any female accessory clothing designs
.

The brains and the real workers behind Magna Team against Kendra the slow-poke going all night doing so little work, trying to claim all credits as hers. They carried Kendra over the finish line.

Week 12 (Pontiac Solstice Brochure) Kendra +2, Tana +1
The Kendra Show coming in at the last minute. Tana and Craig finished their portion of the brochure design early. We agree to take a point away from Tana for her performance.

Tana tried explaining to Kendra confused about the files, folders and sliders.

Week 13 (Staples Desk Clutters) Kendra 0, Tana +2
Kendra acted immaturely in a dog and cat fight and Tana and Kendra conduct focus groups to come up with the idea for the product. Tana avoided confrontation and eating a sandwich and doing nothing about it. Tana stayed focused and helped team to win at the presentation. Kendra –1 for fighting and +1 on presentation.

Kendra and her sales associate hawk collectable clothing during the t-shirt task. Communication breakdown: The t-shirt task proved to be a contentious experience for Craig and Kendra.

Week 14 (Hanes Bedazzle) Kendra +2, Tana –1
Agree that this one is Kendra win In their first head-to-head project manager duel, making almost three times as much money than her.

Week 15 declared a TIED (Executive Interviews) Kendra T, Tana T Both ladies each receive two recommendations from the four execs... both do a good job so they each get points.

With Kendra at his side, Donald Trump welcomes the crowd to the Video Game Championship event at Webster Hall.

Week 16.(NYC2012, Video )FINAL TASK! Kendra +2, Tana 0
Kendra's event begins with the PS2 room concern and the awful meeting... but the problems are quickly rectified, and Kendra leads the team with creativity, grace and respect. Tana's event has loads of screw-ups - including the bad program, the missing American flag and Tana's blatant disrespect for her team.

Hey honey, I'm 250% better than your efforts throughout the season, don't brag about your W-L record to me because if it wasn't for me helping you win twice as project manager, you would have been toast week #8 and #12.

Trump wants to pick the winner with most deserving points over the entire Season 3 – Tana wins with +16 points, YOU'RE HIRED!

Maybe IYO....but IMO, I dont think it was the right one. I mean Kendra was caught lying straight out saying she did all the work on that brochure, and lo and behold...that wasnt true..and when she was confronted, she had to tell the truth.

Makes a person wonder what else she has lied about...

Nonetheless...she did win...but she still wont even come close to comparing to Bill or Kelly...she just doesnt have it in her to be on that same playing level...the people that Trump deals with will have her in tears at some point.

I mean lets face it...her task of three sponsers as opposed to Tana's having to deal with sponsors, athletes, the mayor, his associates, not to mention her team. She had people over her constantly...Kendra's task was just a placement of some video and banners....and she even ticked off one sponsor...only to make her happy in the end. I mean how hard can it be to keep three sponsors happy as opposed to say like 50 people in Tana's case?

The tasks werent on an even scale.

ALTHOUGH...on the other hand..I was not impressed with Tana's behavior on that last task...I still say its that mistake that cost her the job. If she would have just chilled out, she would have won.

Of course thats just my opinion....I could be wrong. (Dennis Miller)
