I have a Dell Laptop Inspiron 15 3521, and it runs windows 7. Recently, I want to use windows 8 for my system, so I want to get the system upgrade. But I don?t know how I can do this. So I searched it from google, and then I get the answer.
1. Check whether your PC can run Windows 8
Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant will determine whether your computer can run Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro. If needed, you can (but not required) to view the system requirements. Upgrade Assistant will perform all of these tasks.
To run Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant, do the following:
Purchase Windows page, click My Computer is capable of running Windows 8? To install the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant. Upgrade Assistant installation may take several minutes, depending on your Internet connection speed.
When the browser prompted, choose Open, Save or upgrade assistant program file to run (Windows8-UpgradeAssistant.exe). Any selection can be running, but if you choose to save, you may need to search for the file on your computer and double-click to run it.
Then follow the steps on the screen. Upgrade Assistant will scan your computer to make sure it meets the system requirements for Windows 8. It also checks your applications and devices are compatible with Windows 8.
Windows 8 contains a beautiful new start screen with magnetic stickers show the latest developments at a glance that your application and your friends. Of course, you are already familiar desktop still there. Your computer will be faster to start, and browse the web faster and safer. Windows App Store has thousands of applications available for download, many of which are free.
If you want to upgrade to Windows 7 Windows 8, you should see the following options:
If you wish to remain on the computer after the upgrade files, settings and applications, select Windows settings, personal files and applications.
If you only want to keep the file (Word documents, photos, movies and other files), please choose to keep only the personal files.
If you do not want to save the settings, files and applications, select ?None?.
If you do not see all these options, it may be because you move the file to a location other than the default location, or use the compatibility mode to run legacy applications on a computer before. Select an available option.
2. Upgrade follows
Enter payment information, follow the steps on the screen to purchase and download Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro upgrade.
Follow the remaining steps to install the upgrade on your computer.
By selecting a number of settings (including favorite color) Set Windows 8.

When you upgrade your system from windows 7 to windows 8, some software or drivers will not compatible with your new system, so you need to reinstall these software and drivers.
