The U.S. military is waginging losing battle for new enlistees. Since fiscal year 2000, stats show the number of young Black enlistees has fallen more than 58 percent.
The immoral and unpopular invasion and occupation of Iraq ( Somalia) is biggest factor depressind Black enlistment, along with distrust of Bush administration - no one served in combat themselves- and the persistent complaint since the Vietnam War that Black soldiers are the Army's " cannon fodder" disproportionately assigned to combat jobs.
A recent CBS News poll showed 83 percent of Blacks said the Iraq (Somalia) Invasion was a mistake. Pres. Bush approval rating with Black voters is at about 9 percent, according to a 2006 Pew Research Center poll.
The Pentegon has increased waivers to new recruits WITH CRIMINAL BAKGROUNDS by 65 percent in last 3 years. More than 8,000 waivers were issued in 2006, up from fewer than 5'000 in 2003.
The data is crstal clear, said Rep. Martin Meehan, Chair of the House Armed Services Subcommitee on Investigations and Oversight, " our services are under incredible strain and the only way to fill recruting quotas is by lowering the standards.
Well like I said in the other thread about this you can't force blacks or anybody for that matter to join the forces and we should respect peoples descion to join or not it's not somehing everyone can do. However there also cannot be complaints from blacks in ten years from now when there are little or no blacks in any kind of authority poition in the force you cannot advance if you are not there.
Maybe I just never saw it but I did not see Somalia mentioned in the article bit of creatitive editing Malcolm?

The decline just happening in 21st century. What about past wars , when We made complaint? What did We get from our participation in every U.S. war? Colon (puppet) Powel?
lodgebo01 said this in post #7 : Well don't join but like I said don't complain when there are no black generals. majors or even sergeants in 20 years.
WE are going to be hurt when military removes HIM.
Thanks for giving military's planned justification for something they have done since WE were 1st allowed to join.
Malcolm you have got f**k all but your mind numbingly stupid rhetoric.
FACT You have no experince of the miltary
FACT you are to scared and cowardly to even consider a role in the army
FACT you look to race for everyhting when maybe it's not even a race issue
FACT you know nobody in the US military far less a black recruit
So until you know what going on in the military by being there or until you find a black recruit who is currently in the army then you have nothing to say on the subject
