Greatest Plays Ever post #1  quote:

What are some of the greatest plays in NFL history?

Here are a few I came up with:

As a Rams fan, to me, this is the sweetest thing I have ever seen:

The Longest Yard
Super Bowl 34: Tennesse Titans are down by 7 points with no time left in the 4th quarter. Kevin Dyson catches the ball up the middle when Rams defensive back Mike Jones makes an open field tackle one yard short of the endzone. Game over. Rams win.

The Immaculate Reception
AFC Divisional Playoff Game, 1972: The Pittsburgh Steelers trailed 7-6 and faced 4th-and-10 at their own 40-yard line with only 22 seconds remaining. Steelers Quarterback Terry Bradshaw threw toward reciever Frenchy Fuqua, but the ball ricocheted off Oakland Raiders' Jack Tatum. Steeler RB Franco Harris grabbed the ball at his shoelaces and raced the remaining 42 yards for the game-winning touchdown.

The Catch
NFC Championship Game, 1982: The San Francisco 49ers trailed the Dallas Cowboys 27-21 and had the ball at the Dallas six-yard line. Joe Montana rolled right and, with the Dallas pass rush in hot pursuit, threw the ball high into the endzone. It almost looked as though Montana were throwing it away, but Dwight Clark soared high and came down with "the Catch" with 51 seconds to play in the 49ers? 28-27 win.

The Holy Roller
Regular Season Game, 1978: The Oakland Raiders trailed the San Diego Chargers 20-14 with no timeouts on the Charger 14 with 10 seconds to go. As Raiders Quarterback Ken Stabler was being sacked, he flung the ball in what was ruled a fumble. The Raiders? Pete Banaszak batted the ball forward, and Oakland?s Dave Casper eventually ended up with it in the endzone for the controversial winning score. This rule was eventually changed.

Wide Right
Super Bowl 15: The underdog New York Giants scored in the 4th quarter to go up 20-19 over the Buffalo Bills. The Bills drove down the field on the very next possesion, and with seven seconds left in the game, they sent Kicker Scott Norwood on the field to try a 47 yard field goal. It looked good for the first 30 yards but sailed wide right.

The Drive
Super Bowl 23: San Fransisco 49'ers Quarterback Joe Montana hit John Taylor with a 10-yard TD pass with 34 seconds left to cap a 92-yard drive that gave the 49ers a 20-16 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Did I miss anything?
