Bachelorette Trista Rehn, 30, and Ryan Sutter, 28, spent their first day of public engagement answering questions about their relationship, which was revealed in Wednesday's finale of the ABC dating show.
Rehn's choice of Sutter, a firefighter in Vail, Colo., surprised many who thought she would pick California account executive Charlie Maher, 29. He will get a wedding invitation, however.
Sutter ''has it all. He's a masculine guy, but he's also got a sensitive side. He makes me laugh constantly. He makes me feel very special,'' Rehn says. His poetry helped, too.
Rehn and Sutter had seen each other clandestinely a handful of times since The Bachelorette finished taping last fall. They watched the finale together in New York and plan to see friends and family in Houston, Colorado and at a wedding in Miami. ''Not my wedding,'' Rehn says.
Rehn, a physical therapist and former Miami Heat dancer now living in Los Angeles, is interested in TV hosting or correspondent work. If that doesn't pan out, she says, she would go to Colorado.
Rehn scuttled false rumors, including one that she is expecting: ''I've dispelled this a million and one times. No, I'm not pregnant.''
''I am, however,'' Sutter jokes.
