| I thought this was absolute crap. He was clearly whipping his arm out to get away from this Fayder pile of manure who was clearly holding Smith's head down after the whistle was blown.
Had Smith wanted to strike the Cooper in the head, I find it hard to believe he couldn't connect with a 250lb. head with a helmet attached. You can see the referee blowing the whistle in the Grayder player's ear. Referee was just in the wrong place at the wrong time (I got it all TIVO'd, baybee).
I understand the incident having an automatic penality, but this sort of playing by the Raiders gets my blood burning - we lost our most consistent receiver because of walking, talking, bumbling drooling mess of an animal in silver and black:
Denver Broncos receiver Rod Smith was ejected in the second quarter Monday night against Oakland after accidentally hitting an official.
Smith got tangled with Oakland defensive tackle Chris Cooper after a 6-yard reception, then took a wild swing with his fist while trying to break free. Smith missed Cooper and hit umpire Undrey Wash in the face on the follow-through.
Striking an official carries an automatic ejection under NFL rules.
Smith thought he had only been called for a personal foul and went back to the huddle, but he was told he had been ejected before the next play.
