Boycott French Products???? |
| Posted by: Caps#1 | | It is to my understanding that if the French do not pass this new resolution, if there is a vote for it, that there will be a massive boycot of all French products. What say you? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Caps#1 | | personally I am for boycotting French products not for the war purposes but because I believe that we should buy and make stuff in our own country rather than taking away money from our businesses/farmers buy buying overseas products, and NothingSacred, even though I do not agree with you about how good our President is, its not Texas's fault | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Sean Kelly | | boycotts are worthless - might as well stand outside the whitehouse picketing for all the good it'll do; I'll have no part in it. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Caps#1 | | what i mean is stop importing stuff all together unless we absolutly need to, support our own businesses | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Dreamzwalker | | If we stop importing then they stop imporing are items. Much of america's wealth comes from exports. If france started, then germany and russia may follow suite. wouldn't really want that. | | Reply To this Message

Try boycotting foreign oil imports and see how far that gets your country, it's easy to boycott stuff you don't really NEED, like french brie, or champagne

We shouldn't as consumers boycott French products but instead encourage businesses to boycott importing French products. After all we do have business owners that will have all this product that nobody wants. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: pooftee | | This is honestly ridiculous. I'm proud of France for not going along with the United States. Differing views are desirable, that is what the US of A is all about. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Sean Kelly | | Boycotts are activist statements that fade into nothingness. Nothing comes of them, ever. If you want to debate the merits or faults in the idea of raising sanctions/embargo against France, fine - lets do it. But boycotting is for those who would rather filp a middle finger than throw a punch. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: NothingSacred | | I only hope France takes it to the limit and uses the veto! It would be cool if Russia and China also had the balls to toss the "V"! Wht's Bush going to do? Quit trading with them all? That's at least a thrid of the world right there. Pea-brain Bush is about to spiral the defecit and wreck the economy more than he already has, alienating trade partners won't help! Clinton had a bad rep, but I'd like Bush much better if all he did was stain Monica's dress, rather than PHUK UP the whole world, in order to create his Neocon paradise. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Edward Teach | | It's already too late, It's too late for diplomacy, it's too late for Turkey, (the military went to plan B), too late to even use the V word. Why do you think the US, UK and Spain are meeting in the Azores instead at the Security Council? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: zid | | Yep...Clinton did a fanstastic job by sending over several "Cruise" Missles to a near abandoned, former training camp of Bin Ladan.
Maybe he was to busy staining Monica's dress when he actually authorized that idea. Maybe he was on the phone with the Defense Secretary as he was getting his needs satisfied by Monica, muttered something about shooting his wad and the Defense Secretary mistook that for shoot the cruises.
Yep....Clinton did a fine job. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: NothingSacred | | And Bush isn't doing any better...
* Mr. Pro-Business huh? The economy is a shambles.
* Now with Bush, defecits are suddenly acceptable, not only that he's setting records!
* His Neocon war is going to wreck the economy and spiral the deficit even more!
* The stock market has seemed so "confidant" since Mr. Business arrived.
* Yes, the Israeli/Palestinian thing has been great since Bush took it in hand.
* Of course we should all be happy about how Bush has fostered the unethical environment that has spawned many Enron type scandals? It is after all Ken Lay's money, screw the employees.
Yeah, that Bush! You got to hand it to him. He was portrayed as a complete IDIOT/MORON before he was elected, it's amazing that he's exceeded all of those expectations! Of course it's great for Haliburton... | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: zid | | A nations economy does not change "overnight".
The true repercussions of previous administrations economical decisions and transactions do not take full effect until several terms afterwards, then the unfortunate leader who takes the previous ones place has to deal with the entire blame. Not saying that Bush hasn't made any unwise choices.....the state of our economy isn't all to blame on the current administration. Our economy was headed for this already....
As if Clinton did any better for the Israeli/Palistine issues? Who has? Who can? That is an age old issue that will never resolve until the hatred that has built over decades of time can be forgotten by all of the perspective countries citizens. Once that can happen...maybe there will be a chance for peace there.
Yep...Bush may have Enron...but just how long was that going on? Being honest here...cause I really don't know. But lets not forget the financial scandals that Clinton had to endure during his tenure...as with almost any leader has. A politician is a politician....99.9% all have their own sleaziness to them. | | Reply To this Message
