4. it took 5-o a long time to get noticed.. 3 underground records.. and when eminem picked him up dre has been doin ALL his beats and rhymes.. ja rule and irv started and ppl noticed ja rite away and he had his first single.. ja betta

5. and no one can say that ja is hiding.. because his wife just had another kid, and ja is makin 2 more albums, and a movie back in the day, + he is gonna b in scary movie 3...he is also thinking about doin a movie with JLO. YEAA HEZ REALLY HIDING

Just because it took him that long to get noticed dont mean ****. there are artists out there that took YEARS to get noticed, and they are hot as hell.

the souce exposed that 50 is a big faker, he never did a 3 to 9 like he said. don't you all think it's kinda fishy that they mentioned his getting shot in EVERY SINGLE SONG? I mean, i'm happy that a brother survived, but lets not get rediculous here. i don't like murder inc at all, i think the tightest camps in hip hop are the dungeon family, rawkus, and the roc. By far.

i think we should not get into this issue too much because we dont really know the truth. i love 50 and i love ja rule too. they are both great on stage and songs too. i know curtis(50cent) is very sturborn but still i think he is cool and i really love him.

they are both jamaican and they wanna proof been the best and strong but i see it as a stupuid thing and childish

i think, that since this is a message board we should get into this issue as much as we like without getting rude and nasty into each other. i dislike both 50 and ja, i used to like ja rule on his venni vitti vicci album, back when he rapped, but now he makes pop songs for little girls where he sings and never raps. I have a friend who has been a 50 cent fan since "50 is the future" and "how to rob an industry *****" stuff that most 50 cent fans have never heard of, because they're all about what TRL shoves down their throat. I can say for a fact that i have never liked 50s rapping ability but i respected the fact that he was a young brother trying to make a living. if you look at 50 now though, he's just as skill-less as he was back then, but he's got Dr. Dre's beats now. (which are bumpin' as ever) The man also says some things in his interviews that i could never support, like that he's not gonna make any socially consious songs cause he doesn't care about nobody's problems but his, and how he doesn't regret selling drugs cause he's the only person he cares about. AND THEN there's the issue of him wearing his vest OUTSIDE of his clothes. As a person who has lived in places wear ppl have worn vests, IF YOU ARE WEARING A VEST, YOU DON'T WANT ANYBODY TO KNOW ABOUT IT!!!! or else when they shoot you, they'll shoot you in the head! wearing a vest outside of your clothes is some fake @ss isht that's just begging for attention. So like i said Ja makes stupid, weak music, which is bad, but ignorable. 50 fakes a gangsta lifestyle and portrays a negative image for black folks, like NYC is the wild-wild west and dudes are just cowboys blowing eachother away in the street. I prefer the singing muppet to the wanna-be nino brown.

First off 50 is cold because his lyrics are tight and he speaks the truth...No mater what happened with him and Ja because Jarule sounds like he's <removed> screaming in all of his songs and that <removed> <removed> aint deep like 50 dont nobody no 50 personaly or what done went on with him and Ja yeah the media can make 50 seem like a little <removed> especially the source magazine(I hope that's not where anybody gets there info)because the source got beef with 50 as well. The rap game is not who is scared of who or who does a song with a pop group...that <removed> makin his money and no matter how many haterz he got hating on him he still gone pravail because he makes good music!

he's making his money from the same people who were ja-rule fans people who like real hip-hop don't listen to that weak trash. all i'm saying is... if your WHOLE deal is how "hard" you are. then you should actually be hard.

dre ruined rap, he's the one who came up with the idea to turn the beat up louder than the lyrics and to put hooks and choruses on every single song, for the people with short attention spans. all he did was make rap more accessible to subrubanites and childeren... i can't say rap is better off with them.

What's wrong with accessibility?

accsessiblility changed rap from an artform with dedicated people into big business full of sellouts. and if you supposedly like "words words words" like you said in another post you SHOULD realize the problem with turning the damned beat up louder than the lyrics!!! the lyrics are the important part and your obscuring them! fact: TRL fans are where the money is at. fact: TRL fans don't like real hip-hop (KRS-One, Nas, Kweli, Mos Def) So, if record execs wanna sell rap music to TRL fans they have to make rap, but less rap-like, rap flavored pop, like nelly, and ja, and to some degree 50 cent music that i like to call "rap for people who don't like rap"

I promise i'm going somewhere with this. since this rap for people who don't like rap is making such good money labels have gotten rid of or pushed back good, talented artists who make real hip-hop in favor of ones who make profitable (not nessecarily good) music more and more. Without a record label to back them people are being forced underground and not getting to spread their music, all because there are new sales standards because suburbanites and children's sales overrun the market. there's more but i've got more posts to do.

interesting. i was thinking about how a lot of classical music scholars have criticized aaron copland for his "accessibility," because he didn't sound dissonant or atonal like so many other 20th century composers. but he wrote music for the common man, not because he couldn't write dissonant stuff, but because he wanted to write music for the masses, and it didn't make him any less talented. a lot of people criticize him for being popular. but being popular or accessible doesn't necessarily mean you're less talented.

but then, aaron copland and his contemporaries didn't have to compete for record labels the way rap artists do. there was no TRL for early 20th century composers (I wish there was!!!) BTW I only learned last week what TRL was. I never watch MTV usually!

I'm just saying that accessibility and popularity doesn't necessarily mean lack of talent. Accessibility can be a good thing. Do you really want to keep people like me completely out of hip-hop?

he lied about doing a 3-9 prison sentence. Quincy Jones Jr said it in his documentary on different rappers and several ppl have backed it up. he only went to a boot camp.

elkabong2k i agree with everythang you say. I think the realest one in the rap game is Nas. He sends messages out to everybody..the kids..the woman..the men..everybody. If Ima buy a album it has to be real enough for me to listen to. The Words in the song does make a big difference..people should listen to where the real music is at. As the people elkabong named like KRS-One, Nas, Kweli, and Mos Def. I definately think those are the real talented ones in the game for which others don't recognize their talent. The majority of people who buy 50 and Ja album is the children/teens. Only if they know that many kids around here is listening to everthang they say and following behind.
