Last weekend my boyfriend and I were sitting outside of a Chili's smoking a cigarette, (no smoking in restaurants in Tampa anymore) when this guy in his 50's or 60's walked out and proceeded to his car. He was stumbling and slurring his speech. He was obviously heavily intoxicated. We implored him not to drive but he insisted; saying he had to pick up his wife from the airport. He didn't have any cash for a cab so I sat with him while my boyfriend ran across the street to an ATM and brought back cash for a taxi. I called a cab and we waited with him until the driver picked him up. He asked for our address so he could pay us back but we told him not to worry about it.
He said "I have to pay you back in some way," I told him "Don't pay us back, just pay it forward. Help someone else out sometime."

I helped a person today...

It was an obese woman who seemed to be having trouble walking, she waddled sorta like a penguin which reminded me of several fat people jokes but I bit my tongue because after reading this thread I wanted to do something nice for the day. Well anyways getting to the point, she walked...er waddled until she had to sit down which she did at one of the many benches around town. Well she sat her purse down at her feet which seemed to be quite a feat as she made several grunting sounds as she bent down forcing her girth of rolls under her shirt to fold over.

After achieving the whole purse setting down thing, she laid what seemed to be a Krispy Kreme donut wrapped in a napkin on the bench's armrest. I thought to myself the recent news report of just how many calories donuts have and how unhealthy they are for you. I just couldn't bear the thought of this poor obese woman intaking another calorie in fear that she might blow a vital organ or worse die of a heart attack then and there! So when she wasn't paying attention, I snatched the Krispy Kreme, fled away, and ate it so the evil thing couldn't somehow make it's way back into the void the woman called her "tum-tum". After doing this I felt overwhelmed with a warm fuzzy feeling, I believe it was the good deed I did for the woman.

I may of even saved that woman's life, being so proud of my achievement I couldn't wait to get on here to post my good deed for you all to pay forward hopefully to someone else... keep on spreading the love guys, there is people out there who need it!

Two days ago in the grocery check out there was a "holdup" because a womans welfare card was out of funds. A quick look at her selections indicated she had kids. Besides the embarresment I could tell she really needed the food. So I just used my AMEX. The couple behind me called me a fool of doing it. Oh well.

I haven't had time to do anything nice for anyone lately. I'll try to schedule something for sometime mid-October..

A few days ago, on the train, it was packed to the brim... hardly any room to move... but a pregnant lady got aboard. Poor woman.

Well, anyway, I never sit on trains, because my face starts glowing red when I stand to let someone sit in my seat when it's full, and I just hate that feeilng. So I was standing, and no one stood for this pregnant lady. Not a single person, in this full train. She waddled around to a few places trying to see if anyone noticed her, but people pretended to be asleep or read or looked down or whatever... so I looked for the healthiest male I possibly find (excluding children, of course)... went over to him and tapped him, he looked scared and jumped up in a rush.

The lady thanked me, so my face grew a glowing red.

The guy was very sorry. People are very polite when it suits them.

is this thread for just one time things or things that have happend in the past also??? or whatever???
well I think i have a **** life but i still try to do something sort of special or nice for people who i don't know or do know..... is making someone SMILE count as anything??? i mean not by telling a person a joke or something just making other people smile by just saying some words or anything to make that person get a smile that might stay on his face for sometime, [not talking about the smile we put on our faces to just get rid of somone ] does it count as a good thing?? giving somone a real good direction of a place can be thought as a good thing, can it?? how about giving someone way to get forward, making somone get ahead in a line, letting someone else get on the elevator if there is no room, backing out and letting another get on the elevator... how about getting someone to call somone from a pay phone, if that person doesn't have any change or money to call?? giving someone change if that person is desperately looking for some , but can't get it in a hurry??
are these things helping or just being nice???
if they are thought as helping, so i help other without wanting anything in return....... if its just being nice, doesn't nice guys finish last??? i think its helping, because doing these sort of things give my heart a sort of glow or something, but hey after doing these sort of things, isn't it sort of bragging or making other people think that I AM GOOD...... the whole point of doing anything good for a strangers is not telling anyone else, its just between me and that stranger, if i tell others it will just not be the same would it?? sorry for so much crap. but this might be teh only posting i will do in this thread. OK?? well i don't much care what other people might post about my responce , but i don't think i want to do things and tell others about it, HEY SORRY NO OFFENCE ....
