Soon your PDA, cellphone or camera will be able to connect directly to each other or to a printer, USB hard drive, memory module etc.

Phillips has developed the new USB On-The-Go technology which enables USB devices with the chip to act as a host (just like a computer). Up until now these devices required a host (computer).

Sony is the first PDA manufacture to embrace the technology with the Clie' (not out just yet).
Qualcomm and Motorola will be putting the chip into their cellphones.

If two devices that have the USB O-T-G chip are connected, one decides which is host and take command.

Better wait a bit, it's not on the market just yet. Maybe in the next few months.
