Tatu singer rushed to hospital
Popular Russian singing duo Tatu were forced to cancel their Monte Carlo concert, scheduled for the weekend, when one of the girls was rushed to hospital in severe pain.
Eighteen-year-old Julia Volkovo was perusing the Russian capital in her car when she was overwhelmed by abdominal pains, reports Ananova.com. Doctors at Moscow Central Hospital later confirmed that it was in fact appendicitis, and operated immediately.
Doctors also ordered the twosome to cancel their Monte Carlo concert as Julia needed to rest after the procedure.
The report quotes her: "I was taken to hospital just at the right time. Doctors told me the operation was a success but said there could have been complications if I had left it until later.
"Unfortunately we weren't able to go to Monte Carlo for the scheduled date, but we will choose another date as all the tickets have been sold and we were really looking forward to it.
"We also plan to go to Latin America, where our music is currently storming the charts," she added.
Russian daily newspaper, Zhizn, reported that the teenage singer now has a reminiscent five centimetre scar on her stomach.
