Almost 50% of Americans believe that Saddam had something to do with 9/11. This stat was discussed on Hardball tonight. The host, Chris Mathews, suggested that it could be because of the president's habit of saying Saddam and 9/11 in the same sentence. He mentioned 9/11 every 7 minutes in his "press conference" the other night. Gee, maybe this is why the majority of Americans support millitary action.

Maybe it's because 50 percent of americans know that Saddam harbors Terrorists and therefore communicates with them. If you communicate with someone, you are usually told things.
We also know what Saddam stands for and anti-protesters either
A.) don't know about Saddam's history or
B.) Don't care that he takes from his people and this assists in their Death.
Which has proven over about 20 years of history.

Okay, let me see if I can locate the pictures that my local news had shown with 60 AL QUADA members bouncing around Baghdad with bombs strapped to their chests. Saddam asked them to join the "Jihad" -- you should be able to find it too.
The CIA also stated that Saddam has assisted them in the past.

its really sad that such a misinformed nation has such power.

i've seen polls showing over 2/3rds of americans believing saddam had something to do with sept 11th. absolutely insane. in fact, 60% of americans believe the US govt. has released evidence showing Iraqi involvement (which is of course patently false)!

half of this educated population also believes that some of the hijackers were iraqis. where do you people get these crazy ideas???

a full 77% of americans are also polled as believing iraq has nuclear weapons. although the bush administration has tried to prove (with faked documents and other deception) that iraq is pursuing a nuclear program, no one has ever seriously claimed that they iraq actually has nuclear weapons.

Baghdad, Iraq - Anti-war groups are beginning to express concern over the Iraqi government's "human shield" selection and assignment process. Newly recruited "human shields", from the United States and Britain, have expressed outrage over the long lines at the "human shield" check-in points and dissatisfaction over their "human shield" assignments.

"This sucks", laments a frustrated Tiffany Leblanc, from Boca Raton, Florida. "I come all this way to be a "human shield" and I have to wait in line? The government here is giving assignment preferences to the locals and sticking us with crappy assignments. I wanted to be a "human shield" at a hospital or the Royal Palace, not standing in a back alley like a prostitute. I need media coverage; I'm counting on media coverage. They aren't going to send any crews to cover a second-tier "human shield", they want stories on the glamorous assignments."

Another "human shield" volunteer, Blake Barrington III from Palm Springs, voiced similar sentiments. "I had to wait for six hours in line, behind all the women and children who were told to show up for their "human shield" assignments. The organizers told me that we would get special express registration and would be quickly assigned to the better "human shield" positions. The old man in front of me was told to stand in front of the Al Quada headquarters in Baghdad, and I got stuck at a chemical weapons factory. I thought this gig would get me on a Reality TV show or something, I never thought being a "human shield" could get me killed."

The newly formed Human Shield Workers Union 178 has vowed to investigate the Iraqi handling of member treatment and assignments, suggesting a possible strike may be necessary to resolve this situation.


Interesting....I just found this, but do not know the VALIDITY of it - I do not believe it's a true story... they would have mentioned it else where - probably a joke with the way the Verbatim is designed.
