Thousands of Russians volunteer to defend Iraq

Around ten thousand Russian citizens have applied for entry visas into Iraq to defend this country against the planned aggression by the warmongering USA and UK, according to the Iraqi Embassy in Moscow.

Iraqi Ambassador to Moscow, Abbas Khalaf, declared last week that the Embassy had received around 3,500 requests, a number which has multiplied in the last few days, according to sources in the same Embassy.

The requests come from young males, some with combat experience, who describe themselves as “volunteers” who are willing to defend Iraq against the illegal armed aggression of the USA and the United Kingdom, two countries which continue to follow a belligerent stance on crisis management, wholly outside the generally accepted concepts of a New World Order based upon multilateralist approaches to problem solving, based upon the United Nations Organisation, a position championed by president Putin’s Russian Federation.

For those who present an adequate reason for travelling to Iraq, the Embassy provides a visa and transportation, free of charge.

It's not racist, nor is it anti-Semitic to admit, that the U.S foreign policy has been hijacked by the Neocons and is being fueled by Wolfowitz and Pearle, who wrote up the whole strategy back in 1996 or so as a way to reshape the middle east to Israel's favor. These people trashed the Oslo Accords because they NEVER wanted a negotiated settlement with the Palestinians, they ALWAYS wanted this war that Bush is giving us now. Add that to the oil wealth. It's not about disarming Saddam at all, don't be duped or embarrassed into considering yourself to be a racist just because you're willing to consider Buchanon's theories. I don't consider myself a conservative, nor a liberal...I'm not into extremism. I'm a pragmatist. And what Pat outlines and the evidence he cites makes a good case...at least to me.

Isn't it great how democracy or a democratically structured country works?

I can look back, not to far into Russias past and show you a ton of scared, starved, and unhappy citizens. I can show you a country who crossed a border and "attempted" to invade a country. But now their citizens have a voice which they can freely excercise and they have the "choice" of doing what they (within reason here) please with no fear of backlash from their own government.

Being free is truly a great thing.

I think there is much more to the Russian Iraqi tie then we think. We know that they have big financial deals and Iraq does buy MIG's from them.

What will happen if Russia fights for Iraq? Are we then at war with Russia?

do these supposed 10000 russians know that many people associated with their government freely admit that the sole reason for their opposition to war with Iraq is that saddam's regime owes them billions from prior arms deals? Russia would change sides like that if Saddam said he had no intention of repaying them!

Ok, we can safely assume that the governments of the world, including the US, have financial interests to consider when backing or opposing a 'US led coalition'. However, what about the fact that the vast majority of their people are against this war. The countries that are willing to back us UK, Spain, Belgium are going against their own people. Besides, don't you think that those countries have financial interests in mind?

we have to wait to see if it s something only limited to some very few russians people or it will extend to their gouvernment. Imagine USA going without UN authorisation and Russia standing there to defend international law, that would be as scaring than ironic...
