08.27.03 - The Chargers will be hosting their 15th Annual Salute to the Military during Friday night’s preseason finale at Qualcomm Stadium (Kickoff is at 7 p.m.).
There will be interactive displays from every branch of the military on the stadium’s Plaza concourse, and the always popular United States Navy Seal Leap Frogs team will be skydiving into the stadium during pregame festivities, followed by a flyover of F-18 Hornets from NAS Lemoore.
In addition, Lieutenant JG Adam Ellis will perform the national anthem. Ellis joined the Navy to become an officer and a pilot, and after two years of flight school, is currently stationed on the John C. Stennis (CVN 74).
At halftime, Chargers will welcome home military personnel just back from Operation Iraqi Freedom, followed by the Marine Corps presenting their huge football field length flag. The salute will conclude with a fireworks display above Qualcomm Stadium. | |
