MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. - Skechers USA Inc. had bad luck with Britney Spears — maybe it'll have better luck with Christina Aguilera.

Aguilera, 22, recently signed an 18-month agreement to appear in ads for Skechers, starting in October. She'll model footwear and accessories.

The campaign will be launched in women's, teen and pop-culture magazines, concurrently with the European leg of her "Justified and Stripped" world tour with Justin Timberlake.

Skechers had an endorsement deal last year with Spears, but she filed a $1.5 million breach of agreement lawsuit in December, claiming the Manhattan Beach-based company failed to pay her adequately for marketing a line of skates and accessories.

The pop star also claimed Skechers failed to find outside businesses to make accessories for her line, and used her presence in ads to increase sales of its own skate products.

Skechers responded with a $10 million lawsuit, accusing Spears of fraud and breach of the three-year worldwide licensing agreement she signed in January 2002.

The company claimed Spears refused to cooperate with designers and marketers in rolling out her products.

The suits were settled in May but the terms were not disclosed, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.

Oh gawds... BLECK! She just looks like that nastiest, white trash to me. She just makes me ill... Can she make herself look anymore like a skank? That's what I see when I look at her. Her image has changed so much... and I just don't like her any more. She was really nice to look at when she first hit the scene.

I dont think she looks that bad, certainly not as bad as the dirrty video clip and performances.

The shoes look cool and that is what counts I guess, but who really wears sneakers and fishnet stocking????? No-one i know thats for sure.

I really Like Her I think She look Great In all Her Pic. I dont Belive She Is trying to be like anybody I belive she wants to be her self and If you like it or not it doesnt matter to her cause she will always be herself. If you dont like her no one is forcing you to see the things she does and she isnt try to make you either. So people are scared of the trueth and the fact that she is in you face and all about the truth intimitates every one.

Right... that's it! *smacks forehead* Grant and I, and many others are intimidated by her!!

So Say what you want at the end of the day whos making the money and living large not you or anyone else.

Christina Aguilera replaces Britney Spears

Christina Aguilera has replaced rival Britney Spears as the face of Skechers footwear.

The 'Dirrty' singer posed for a series of raunchy photos - including dressing as a naughty nurse and a sexy policewoman - to promote the shoe giants after bosses felt Britney no longer had the right image.

A source said: "Britney's marketing appeal is on the decline - especially after her recent bedraggled outings.

But Christina is looking better than ever. We're very happy with her."

The official company statement said the adverts "feature the global superstar portraying two characterized sides of herself: the good girl and the not-so-good girl."

Britney and Christina have had a long-running feud since starring on 'The Mickey Mouse Club' as children.

Earlier this week, it was claimed Christina had pulled out of buy*ing a New York apartment after she found out that Britney was the current owner.

She had been due to splash out on the £2.7million pad until aides mentioned that her chart rival was the vendor.

Meanwhile, Christina is set to launch her own lingerie range.

She said: "I'm such a collector and I do so much research that eventually I would love to do my own line. I want to do beautiful pieces that are a little edgy, but feminine."

CHRISTINA AGUILERA has been forced to bin a raunchy ad campaign after nurses vented their fury.

The Dirrty singer posed in white suspenders and PVC dominatrix-style gear in the “Naughty and Nice” campaign for trainer company Skechers.

Other adverts show her as a cop confronting a woman bending over a car and as a teacher giving a student a telling-off.

But the nursey shots have been shelved after nursing unions complained.

Sandy Summers, executive director of the Centre for Nursing Advocacy, said: “We understand the comic intent but this ad exploits the ‘naughty nurse’ and ‘battleaxe’ stereotypes that have plagued nursing.”

Never mind, they can console themselves with the, er, great work of Nurse T*t — ABI TITMUSS — who really has improved the image of nursing.

Naughty Nurses are used all the time in advertising, movies, etc, though. Strange that Skechers would bow to the pressure and remove the ads.

Skechers Swings To Profit With Help From Christina Aguilera

Bloomberg reports that Skechers USA Inc., whose popular shoes are advertised by singer Christina Aguilera, said Tuesday that it had a profit in the fourth quarter as sales climbed 18% and the company recorded a $4-million tax benefit. Fewer markdowns and returns along with better-than-expected sales of new lines — including brands endorsed by Aguilera — boosted revenue.

AGUILERA SLAMMED FOR SKECHERS AD

Pop superstar Christina Aguilera's flesh-baring commercials for the Skechers shoe company have been slammed as the worst advertisements of the year.

The Advertising Women of New York have shamed the commercials because of the singer's saucy poses -- which include a sexy nurse, a schoolgirl and a police officer.

The organization, which promotes women in the advertising industry, will stage their Good, Bad and Ugly Awards in New York City on Tuesday.

Aguilera gets the Bad Award while socialite Paris Hilton receives the Ugly Award for her topless Guess Jeans campaign, which shows a large snake encircling her torso.
