Evanescence is horrible

I don't want to offend anyone who likes evanescence, but they are horrible... i dont' know what it is about them, but they really are bad. I know a lot of peopel liek them, and i dont' get it... It's liek a high pitched hurts ur ear drums voice, adn then liek metal music in the back with the occasional yelling of a lyric.... i don't think they should even qualify as music

I actually like them. They aren't anywhere near a favorite of mine, but I don't mind listening to them if their on the radio.

would u like to help me understand what it is that makes you enjoy them? i don't want to sound mean if i do, but i really want to know....

I don't know exactly. Their main song, that's getting all the air play... every time I hear it, I enjoy the beat, and the fact that it's got a calmness to it, and then it brings in brash stlye. It's a mix, and it's just not one beat, one rhythm.

yeah, i guess that mkes sense... i still dotn' know... but i think th song is kind of growing onme... I still dont' like it but it doesn't bug the crapout of me like it used to

Hey... that's good to hear!!! Sometimes it takes listening to something a few times before you even like it.... and this is true with bands that you love and put out new albums. It just takes awhile to get to "know" the song and like it.

I like Evanescence. The sound of the music is good. They are not a very good live band though. Amy Lee really needs to build up her endurance. She sounds aweful live.

Much of the music that has become my very favorite over time is the very same music that I once couldn't stand. Sometimes it's been from or even started an emerging style that at the the time was difficult to digest simply because it's such a departure from everything I've heard before. Other stuff has proven too subtle and complex in it's conception to catch you initially, rather requiring several attentive listens before it's genius is revealed. I'm not saying this be the case for Evanescence, I just know that about all of my very favorite music took it's time to grow on me and that very little "catchy" music has lasted at the top of my list of favorites.

Sounds like you should apply the same approach to your dislike of country music.

i actually like evanescence .. they're good !! the music, the lyrics .. i jus like em bunches !!
i dont think Amy sounds bad live i've heard an accoustic version of "going under" on launch and she was really good !!
Oh and by the way, i like the way u made ur point without offendin anyone !! way to go it's always great to discuss different points of view !!

I like evanescence too. Amy needs a little work on live preformances, she gets out of breath easily and it makes her sound bad when shes a really good singer.

like i said before, i think they are growing on me. Maybe it was because they were just so different or something.. i DN but at first they definitely didn't appeal to me. But now if my friends put in the CD or sutin i dont' really mind. I wont' put the CD in, but... i am making progress.... although i'm still not a hgue fan of the whole singing to metal idea....

amy lee is hot. i have all of there autographs. and ive been to a concert of theeres they are my favorite band!!!

Cool,I agree their songs are good.Going under,and Bring me to life are my fav,i listened the others but their not as good as these 2.

I have heard them do "Bring Me To Life" live and they sounded really good. I liked Amy's voice, but it was only one song on a live TV Show, so I can't comment on her endurance. Although I have heard from a couple of other people that she does get a bit raspy after a few songs.

I think Evanescence is a great band. I used to be really annoyed by their first song that got played way too much but then I started to like it and bought their Cd. I just like something about the lyrics and the music they play, I know that doesn't make a whole lot of sense but yeah.

They were supposed to perform in my town but the called off the show. I was looking forward to seeing them. I have heard a few live songs and agree Amy Lee is not a very strong live performer.
