Does anyone have any pictures of Kobe with black women? They are probably worth a lot of money since they are pretty rare.

He wouldn't be making millions of dollars if he wasn't all that important.

i guess i was thinkin about important being someone who made a real contributon to humanity, like cured a disese, or help the poor. i guess i just never think bball players as making a contrbution.

Sorry for being confusing. I took the conversation down a different path without explaining what I was doing.

Missfignewton said she didn't think Kobe was an important person, and you said you didn't think JonBenet was, either. I think that neither one should have received such excessive media attention, but I was struck by the stark contrast in the two people: JonBenet was an innocent child, and Kobe is at least guilty of adultery. That's all I meant.

I don't think Kobe is guilty of rape, from what I have read and heard, but not because I think he "can't" be, or that he "wouldn't because he can get any woman he wants." It's because I haven't seen or heard any evidence sufficient to convict him. Maybe enough will be presented in the course of the hearings, but right now, there's not been enough made public to satisfy me.

let's not forget the jonbenet was also the child of fabulously wealthy parents, i'm sure that had something to do with her getting the news coverage. I know of at least one other innocent little girl who was murderd and involvement by family members was suspected, but she only made the local news.

I have not noticed any rhyme or reason as to why the media picks up on some stories and not on others, or why some people receive such sympathy and others such derision. I do think that the excessive media coverage is seriously undermining our justice system. And, truth be said, I am not convinced all the media coverage does any good at all. I think shows like John Walsh's do, but I don't consider it part of the media frenzy. For example, the Laci Peterson case. All the media frenzy did NOTHING to find her. If those joggers had just landed from the moon, and didn't know a thing about the story, they still would have found the bodies and they still would have reported the bodies to the local authorities, and the bodies would still have been identified as Laci and Connor.

Unfortunately, the media is here to stay, and since we, the public, have demonstrated an insatiable appetite for all the scandal and gossip, I don't see any motivation to change.
