Avril defines punk, what a joke. All she is is some cute face that someone dressed up like a punker to appeal to that demographic. I wish everybody would realize that Avril IS Brittany Spears with different management. Her music sucks, she can't sing, and she relies more on looks than talent.
That being said, I wouldn't have minded if i was in crowd when she mooned them, like her or not, she's got a great butt.

I then soon sent SNL a e-mail telling then that it would be amazing if they made fun of Avril and not too long after, THEY DID!! I was so extremly happy.... one of the happiest moments of my life thank-you-very-much!!

Honestly, this crap is getting really annoying. If you were true punks, you would not throw crappy hissy fits about some singer that said something some time. I remember when punk was good music before people thought it would be an interesting thing to do after hearing one song by The Sex Pistols to become a "Mega punk". What the hell is this? The punk I know and remember is long dead because you people have forgotten what punk is really about : Having good times with friends and not caring what people think about you. I'm a fan but personally I don't think she can sing, but she has a good voice which matters more so when your a rocker than being able to sing.

Not everyone sounds bad live. That is what I'm trying to say. All the bands I listed above sound exactly like the do live as when they were recorded.

Alright Kiddos, here's what I think. Some of Avril's songs are good, but some are just plain ridiculous. Like the one where she goes, "i'm not the milk and cheerios in your spoon" or something to that effect, that must be the stupidest thing I've ever heard. And quoted (well sort of) from a site which shows all the reasons that Avril's a fake, "wearing every single piece of clothing ever put out by hot topic does not make you punk"..umm i don't know the exact quote but i'll look up the site and put it up here, but it's so very true. She comes out in her dickies, and ties, and arm warmers and whatever the hell else she wears and calls herself punk when her music isn't. And that skater boy song, first of all, who the hell would spell it "Sk8er Boi"? Not only is she a poser, she evidently has trouble in English, but anyway, that song is incredibly childish and why the hell would any besides a 15 year old hormone driven moron want to get with someone who isn't even sure of who they are, because she contradicts herself. In her song complicated she sings about how she hates it when people act differently, when she's doing the exact same thing. I really don't like her, but some of her songs are good, even though they're poppy, but poppy is sometimes good when it's not sung by a crazy whore (britney spears) or a person who claims to be one thing but her actions say otherwise. Anyway, I'm going to look up the site that I was talking about before. TTYL.

Whose arguments are weak? Avril's are, because she contradicts herself so much she doesn't know what she's talking about anymore. But the person who wrote that article is saying the truth.

The person who wrote the article made a prefixed judgement and took out major elements that should have been considered in her argument, I would telll you which ones, but I've recently become very busy once I have the time I will telll you about the weeak points in her argument.

I suggest you re-read the article and see for yourself.

If you are going to stand up for her in an "Anti Avril" thread, i suggest YOU re-read the name...anti-avril...if you like her, and don't like what we're saying, then don't read it - it's simple. but, since i'm an open minded person, i would like to hear the elements that she took out. granted, i didn't do any research on Avril but from what i see, i don't like. that's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

First of all I'm pro-Avril. But I'm an open minded person and do have the decency to listen to constructive criticism. However in this article the writer makes several weak points that can easily be exploited by anyone whether they are pro-Avril or Anti-Avril who know about her. Get ready for my next post.

Yeah, I don't think that Avril is a poser, she may not sing punk rock and although she may dress like a punk rocker, should not be any concern to you. Artists dress the way they like to show an image. Doesn't necessarily have to reflect the music. The music she sings, I would classify as pop punk - girl style. There is alot of punk rock bands out there that don't all dress punk rock style. The true punk rock is with mohawks, plaid pants, leather jackets and boots that are high, with spikey accessories. Those bands are like the gadgits, rancid and some other oldies. Then you have your green day - 90's style punk and of course today, blink 182 and good charlotte. They may sing punk music but all there styles are different. So wouldn't most of those bands be posers as well?

If Avril the beans music wasnt pop then why would it be entered for the category...and why would her managers etc let her be... :P
