| Sorry I've pretty much disappeared for about a month. I went to camp and neglected to mention that I was going. Camp still isn't over, but my mom surprised me by taking me out for four days to fly from Rhode Island to Orlando, Florida to see Sunday's concert. I found out I was going on the plane there, but she managed to keep it from me that she had gotten FRONT ROW FLOOR SEATS. We weren't blocked by speakers or anything. I had a perfect view, and everyone was SO CLOSE!
I got Charlie to wave at me when he first came out. After that, I got him to wave at me a few more times, and about halfway through the show while everyone was screaming and applauding, he jumped onto a speaker in front of me and held his microphone in my face.
Clay is amazing in person. I made a sign that said, "SAMMI CAME FROM RHODE ISLAND JUST TO SEE CLAY" (ha, if anyone else went to that show and saw someone with that sign...yeah, it was me). I know he was reading it because...I could tell where they all were looking. And you know how singers always randomly point to people in the audience? While he was singing his new song, he pointed to me while he sang, 'I see your face in the crowd / and I wish I could call your name'. I almost died...smart me for putting my name on my sign! n_n
To put it bluntly, it was the best concert I've ever been to, and I am also sad to say that I was part of the mob that was screaming at Clay's car as he drove out of the Civic Center...I got a good look at him in the car, too...he waved to all of us. Trenyce and Charlie also waved at everyone as their tour busses left, and Julia and Kim Cauldwell (god I hope I spelled that right) came out to sign autographs. I got Kim's.
Dah, they all did such a great job. I also had a bit of a surprise when I looked over to my right and saw the guy who won "Fame" standing next to me. He wasn't there for long, though. About five minutes, maybe. Then he went walking through the audience while people snapped pictures at him.
I have to go back to camp tomorrow morning and I'll be back August 17. | |
