I've seen the pics of this chic and she's a beat ordinary white girl.....i mean i have nothing against white girls and obviously Kobe don't either but.......there was a 12 hour delay from when the alleged assault happened and when it was reported.....so who's to say that any physical evidence wasn't self inflicted? If you were not there you don't know for sure. I have known woman that have liked rough sex and then after the sex they felt bad and ashamed and then when there friend sees them comming out of the room the first thing they said to defend themselves is that " I was raped" or "he made me do it" instead of the truth.

I have read all of your opinions and i have come to a position. Now no one has mentioned this. This case is Kobe Bryant Vs. the state of Colorado not the girl. The case is being held in Colorodo because it happened in Colorado. And I think that race is going to affect the decision because it has in every case like this one. (ex. To Kill A Mocking Bird) I think that Kobe is going to get off even if he is convicted because we all know that he is going to file an appeal if he lose.

Again....you people seem to not understand things....did he have sex with the state of colorado? he slept with her whether it was consentual or not, he did have sex with her, admitted it in public. He screwed up!!!!! Whatever happens to him is a result of his actions.........If she is lying about the rape, then she will have that on her conscious if she has one. I know what you people mean about black and white, but race should not be an issue, sometimes this world pisses me off so much, we are all human beings!!!!!!!

Are you on crack? This case is nothing like Rodney King. Kobe did it and he will go down. As far as a fair trial goes, trials always occur where the alleged crime occurred. Its very rare for their to be a removal for prejudice, but even if there were where do you want the trial? LA? Memphis? Atlanta? Detroit? I would not mind it in Boston, because the evidence is solid and all the Celtics fan could do to Kobe in the showers of the jail what he did to Faber.
By the way Rodney King cops got off because the jury had a lot of information we did not, like the earlier part of the tape that showed a strong man beating policeman after getting maced. I think that the cops should have all been convicted, but the conclusion of the jury was not as crazy as it seems. Basically King led them on a huge chase risking the lives of many, then he got out of the car and went crazy beating some cops, got maced, kept coming, cops got mad and did stuff they should not have done. The last part was the only part that was played on TV. And the much larger travesty was what occurred after the trial when bands of thugs beat people and stole from them not because of anything they had done, but because of their race.

I will respond to both your posts in this one. I am not a "hater", and I do not wish I was Kobe, though having his net worth would be nice.
Bringing up the brutal killing of Amadou Diallo is exactly the kind of thing I chastised you about before in talking about Rodney King. What happened to Diallo was very very wrong and there is no other side to that story. But the fact that a black man was killed by NYC cops has nothing to with whether or not Kobe Bryant can get a fair trial. People like Al Sharpton could not continue to afford their lavish lifestyle if they did not stir up racial animus. It is a tragic affront to the legacy of Dr. King that the last people remaining who wiped his blood on their shirts go around and instead of promoting reconciliation, hold press conferences in false rape cases. Kobe's trial is becoming like that already to a pathetic extent.
The O.J. trial should have taught us all that race is not a factor in our criminal justice system. The system we have now is classist not racist. Any disparity in sentencing etc. is the result of demographics and where police are located because it is a lot easier to arrest 3 people doing drugs in the same apartment than it is to arrest 3 people spread in different trailers over a 15 mile area. For the same reason while public defenders will suck almost anywhere, they will be the worst in cities, where the dockets are crowded and their case loads are impossibly high.
The "I have a dream" speech was just commemorated in D.C. In that speech Dr. King did not say his dream was of affirmative action and racial quotas for jury pools, his dream was for a society that focuses on individuals and not on their group identity.

As you will see if you look at my original post, I think the police officers should have been convicted. Yet again let me point out that showing some racial injustice somewhere in no way bolsters your argument that Kobe's trial will be racist, and the fact that the last mega celebrity to get charged got off despite being guilty actually makes your point weak. Our criminal justice system responds to money not race.
Anyway my reason for thinking Kobe is lying is that he lied initially and then changed the story, and I think if he can learn from his mistake and never have another affair maybe his wife would be doing the right thing to forgive, but I think this was part of a pattern of behavior, and it is not surprising given how much the culture of NBA basketball players (of all races) use groupies for sex. He did not throw it all away for this one chick as you described doubting, he was about to have surgery, he was scared and frustrated and without his wife (why was she not there the night before he was having surgery?) and he had consensual sex with a girl who did not want to also have anal sex which Kobe forced on her despite her struggles. The reason the DA has been so confident is because of the bellboy, then the next mornings rape kit and the physical evidence which includes his fluid in both holes and tearing in the other since she had never done that before...
Kobe shocked me and disappointed me, but he will be convicted not because he is black, but because despite all his money he is guilty and the best defense in the world could not get him off.
