The ending

Book 5: HP & the Order of the Phoenix Forum

What are everybody's ideas about the ending of the last book. Will Harry live, will he die in the fight, is he going to join Voldemort and become a real Slytherin? Are there any more theories? I am curious!

In the ending of the 5th book, we're left knowing that the 2nd war has begun. Like any war in real life, people on both sides are going to die. Death eaters, people from the Order, professors, students, major characters, etc...

I don't think that we will ever see Harry become a slytherin. The only reason that the hat considered putting Harry in the Slytherin house, was because of what Voldemort transferred to Harry with the scar. Harry will never become a Bad guy.

Well, even Anakin became bad!

I don't see it happening!! But, I guess that we will wait and see until the final word is printed in book 7. But, it will be an interesting ride no matter what JKR does.

I don't think Harry will join Voldemort, JKR said in an interview that 'Harry won't be tempted to the dark side'. But Harry might going to have to accept *and use* some of his Slytherinian abilities - like being a Parcel-mouth. He even might pretend he's with Voldemort and then in the last moment he reveals himself and fights him. That would be great. But no one should know he's on the good side all the time - not Hermione, not Ron, not the Order and NOT the readers.

I can't see Voldemort even wanting Harry on his side. He wants him dead. Listen to the prophecy... neither can truly live with the other being alive. One will kill the other.

Yes it will be intersting to see what is happening. I do hope Rowling will make it interesting enough not to be a disappointment. There will be a lot of pressure. Maybe we will have to wait a long time for that book to be ready! (Or is it written already.) Well at least I hope she makes it a long one just like TOOTP (or longer).

I know I know but it's just so boring! Where's the fun if there is no 'tempting'? Uhhhh... Then it's all up to who is better in duels. I WANT to believe Harry will switch to the darkside for a while, or at least consider it.

Yes, Harry to the dark side and Voldemort getting kicked by a spell that makes him a better person. Or am I getting a bit crazy here!

But in the end I think most people will be disappointed hoping that the ending will be so spectacular that Rowling can never live up to that!

I think books are better at living up to hype than films are. Movies are given about 2 hours to deliver all that they've promised, and sometimes you just can't fit everything that's going to satisfy the audience into that time frame. Books give the author time and space to display the full extent of his/her creative abilities, and so I think JKR will deliver a finale with real emotional impact at the end of book 7.

Yeah, whatever JKR decides to do with the characters, she will describe it so good everyone will be satisfied.

you all have a lot of faith. After three years of waiting, were you all not a bit disappointed about this 5th book. For me the 4th was and still is the best!

True, it wasn't as tense as the four previous books, but it's because we all expected a kind of a detective story, and it's not the only thing that matters. Changing of characters' emotions and stuff like that really is important and I guess JKR needed a book to bring it all out. The next ones will be more like the first four books, i think. But it was necesarry to explain what happened to some characters so that they are not what they were before (Neville is a great example).

I wasn't disappointed at all. Yes, book 5 was a lot different than the previous four books.. but I liked it a lot. I think that it's helping the storyline to head in a different direction. More dark. It's going to be war now... and choosing and showing what side you belong to.

True... the mood of the books continually change. I think that there wasn't as much change in the 5th book though. It just seemed to have a black, rainy cloud hanging over every page. There was happy stuff throughout the books, and funny things. But, there was a lot more darkness in this book because of Voldemort being back and more being revealed.

O.K. This is way out there, but my prediction for the ending of the series is that Harry will kill Voldemort. Dumbledor will sacrifice himself to give Harry the anger and power to perform the death curse. Wormtail, at the last minute, will aid Harry. After this, Harry will decide that he has had enough of death and give up his dream of being an Auror. He will become the permanent D.A.D.A. teacher. Oh, I also think that Harry will turn out to be the heir of Godric Griffindor. Hey, I said it was out t

WOW! I like your predictions, and I agree with a lot of them.
I think that Harry is Godric Gryffindor's heir... and it will be great to see if that is so. Harry as the DADA professor is a real possiblity, especially seeing how he taught to the other student's, some who are in higher years than he is. I think that Voldemort will die... and I like that you've pointed out that if Dumbledore was killed, that would definately aid in Harry's anger, and possibly using the death curse. I'm sure that Wormtail is going to do something to help Harry because of what Harry did to save him.

if u think about it...the mood changes with Harry....i mean Harry is getting older,we are getting older...and the mood gets more darker

if this goes on to the 7 book,it will no longer be a childrens book
