| An alleged witness to the Kobe Bryant alleged rape of a 19-year-old Eagle woman wrote Speakout! that Kobe Bryant was heard calling the alleged victim a “white *****.”
A person identifying themselves with a female name (Speakout! is withholding the name) wrote Wednesday, July 23rd, “I was upstairs of Kobe and I heard him shout, among other things over 23 minutes, ‘...white *****...’ Does that constitute a ‘hate crime?’ Can he be put away for 14 years in (the) Federal Penitentiary?”
Speakout! responded to the email by asking for the writer’s phone number, allegedly in Los Angeles, but was emailed back, “(Name withheld) won't let me tell. I was born in (country withheld) and grew up in US. I have faced racism all my life. When we heard Kobe saying ‘...White *****...’ I knew something was going on.”
(Name withheld) won't let me talk about it because our careers (careers withheld) are in danger. I just couldn't let this go. It hurt me so much.”
Speakout! then contacted Gerry Engle, a partner at Cordillera, the hotel that Bryant stayed at on June 30th, the night of the alleged sexual assault. Engle was asked if Speakout! could view a list of names of guests staying at the resort on June 30th, in order to verify if the emailer was actually staying at the hotel that day.
“We can never verify a guest name in the hotel because that and service are the number one rule in hospitality,” Engle stated. Speakout! responded that his answer was understandable.
A minute after Speakout! received the email declining to give Speakout! a phone number, Speakout! received another email from the alleged witness which said, “It's definitely a Federal case.”
Also, at 3am this morning (July 25th), another email was received by Speakout! saying, “I cannot tell you any more, (name withheld) my boyfriend and I are fighting about this. He thinks it will destroy our careers.”
