Take a look at the Wire Records website. Their main artists seem to be a kid group act called Triple Image and a cute boy act named Stevie Brock. This explains everything! Now we know what kind of artists Johnny wants!!

Wire Records *finally* put a picture of Harlemm as the winner of Fame on their website. It took them HOURS to do it....

Now I know why he didn't want Harlemm. He could be the father of the children he has signed!

Hell, Shannon could be their mother!

Newport,
I have gone on to the wire records site a few times and I didn't see any picture of Harlem. Another thread mentioned that on the site there was news on a fame album, I wasn't able to see that either. There was a Fame section but it just sent me to the NBC official site, which doesn't tell you anything. Could you tell me if I was doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Carla

The same thing happened to me. I went on Wire records, and did not see any pictures of Harlemm. Just of a could of kid bands. I also didn't see anything about a Fame soundtrack coming soon.

I ment a "couple of kid bands"... I think that Johnny likes these little bubble gum pop singers, that's why he wants Shannon sooo much. I really liked Shannon throughout the whole season, and think that she is a very talented girl, but Johnny's offering of a record deal to her right there in Harlemm's special moment made me get a little angry with the whole situation... Well, whatever.

WIRE stands for Wright International Records and Entertainment. I think names he's worked with are NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Britney... but not sure.

I didn't find much about their company site either, and I tried to write to the webmaster but it bounced back. So much for technology.

I still see the same site with NO information on Fame. It just sends me right to the stupid NBC site.

DOes anyone have any background info on "Wire Records"?
What other artists have they signed?
Surely not only the 3 on the webpage? If so, that's not much of a deal for the winner.

Bonnie, go to http://www.google.com and type this in (including the quotes)

"Wright International Records and Entertainment"

You'll get all kinds of background and who he's signed.

When you go to wire records, you'll see the picture of Harlemm and a message that says they are proud to welcome him. Click on the message. All you get is, the fame soundtrack coming soon and the final four listed in pictures. I thought that it would have meant that there would be some kind of info about Harlemm, but there was nothing. I am also wondering if by them listing the final four, could that mean that they all got contracts? If so, why only choose Shannon to ask on stage?

Lurker turned poster lol

WIRE is still "new" for Johnny. Most of the artists he has signed have been with his management company Wright Entertainment Group (WEG...www.wegmusic.com). The website is currently under major construction. Some of his current artists include NSYNC, Britney Spears, BoyzIIMen, P. Diddy, Christina Milian, Justin Timberlake, etc.

Oh okay-- I was also disappointed for Harlemm when I looked at WIRE Records web page--- am glad to hear WIRE and the webpage shoudl be getting better and better---

Harlemm's appeal worldwide is huge--

Fame is the only reality TV show I have enjoyed--it had some problems (esp the judges for me) but I really enjoyed the performances

I'll be the first one to say that WEG and WIRE's websites are lacking in updates. They are usually way behind. As for artists that they have signed, between WEG and WIRE, they do have some big name acts. WIRE is fairly new and still developing. You can't get all the big, established acts from the get go. If I were Harlemm and Shannon, I would be pleased. They are in good hands with Johnny and all of his reps at WEG/WIRE.

Time will tell if Harlemm is in good hands with Johnny. I have my doubts from looking at the artists posted on their website. Hopefully, this record company will recognize the marketability of Harlemm's unique vocal style and not try to make him into a generic copy of their current artist base. I can see why Johnny switched to being a "huge" Shannon fan during the final episodes of FAME. She fits their young, bubble-gum M-O much better than Harlemm does. Judging from the "special" (and quite mediocre) song that Harlemm was given to sing after winning, it doesn't seem like his uniqueness will be recognized by Johnny. We'll see....

I saw Harlemm on the Today show yesterday with Matt Lauer. He mentioned that he is a songwriter and it sounded like he wants to write his own songs for his CD. And he obviously (from what we saw on the show) can produce on his own -- I wouldn't think he would need P Diddy or Justin Timberlake. I'm thinking he knows enough about the process to not let Johnny "push him around". And I hope Johnny is smart enough to realize that America voted for that unique vocal style and that is what we want to hear!! As for the song -- if Harlemm is singing I'm listening -- what can I say I thought it was fun. You're right though, Harlemm has more to offer than that. Hopefully his CD will be an eclectic collection of songs.

I think Harlemm should decline working with that sleezebag. There are some things that look like gold but taste like s.....
This deal is one of them. The sooner he disassociate himself from that JELLO-selling machine, the better.
